A laid-back seaside resort close to Hua Hin’s best markets and Klai Kangwon Palace

The Lowdown

Despite the curious name, the Rest Detail Hotel offers the best of both worlds: proximity to Hua Hin’s markets and attractions, as well as a chilled-out vibe. The guest rooms are quite large, ranging from one to four bedrooms and are tricked out with niceties such as iPods and free beach accessories like a beach bag for guests to use during their stay. The spa offers a comprehensive menu of Asian healing rituals, and two restaurants serve a mix of Western, Mediterranean, and Thai fare in indoor and outdoor settings. There’s also an espresso bar and program that lets guests arrange private dinners in various corners of the romantic resort.

In the Area

About three hours by car from Bangkok, Hua Hin has long been the holiday retreat for Thailand’s royal family, as well as the city’s elites and international tourists. The resort town’s attractions include the PlearnWan vintage market and Hua Hin Night Market, plus the Klai Kangwon Palace, a 1929 Spanish-style palace that’s still the King’s summer residence. (It’s invitation-only, but you can still admire the exterior.) Hua Hin is also a premier golf destination for Thai’s and visitors to the country, and the hotel concierge can arrange tee times and transportation to eight nearby courses.

Great hotel with really nice service and well decorated. The staffs are very warm welcome with little gift and snack for your arrival. The breakfast is also wonderful. The hotel is really peaceful and private from the outside world. Great experience. Recommend!

Fine except the bed

We booked the rest green type of room. Very good location, good size of hotel, pool and beach are just at doorstep, but our king bed that is 2 single attached is a pain. It is very uncomfy so my husband decide to sleep on sofa and I got a backache in the next morning.
Food is ok, small serve and not so many to choose from. I would recommend the tom yum noodle with bacon :)

Quiet place and very nice relaxed,

Lovely hotel

The hotel is quite difficult to find as its set quite far back from the main road and not particularly well sign posted, but once there I was very pleased.

Reception staff were great and very friendly.

We stayed in the Rest Horizon room and the room was very clean and nicely presented. Other reviewers have said its quite dated but I personally though it was fine. The room was an excellent size with plenty of storage and the infinity Jacuzzi was nice. Turn down service was a nice touch and the evening treats were delicious.

Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of choice. Staff at breakfast were great and made my wife and 2 young kids feel very welcome.

We ended up having dinner for 2 nights at the hotel. The view looking across the pool and out onto the sea was beautiful. The food was very good and reasonably priced, although alcoholic drinks are a little pricey for Thailand, but overall good value I felt.

Overall a lovely hotel with great staff. Highly recommended.

Perfect wedding venue. Loved it!

What a wonderful place for a wedding. The wedding planner Sim did an amazing job planning everything from A to Z (and its all using emails. We didnt visit there before the wedding, but felt comfortable enough to trust her), The place itself, the music, the great food, everything was perfect, she also listen to your ideas and requests and can modify and negotiate to make sure youll have a perfect day.We had a superb wedding and if youre looking for a place I can recommend it 1000%. We stayed for an extra day to relax and enjoy all the gifts the hotel offer (massage, dinner and an afternoon treats).
All the staff is nice and helpful, the breakfast is great, and the beach villa rooms are fantastic!!
Location is a bit far from city center, but we saw it as a plus if you want to just relax.
We cant wait to go there again!
