How to Get There
We here for the first time but often in Hua Hin. And this is the most one that we enjoy the peaceful with then long beach front and the sand is very soft. This place is perfect for your wonderful vacation. The staff is the best.
We were here in October 2014, May 2017 and now November 2018. It is still as perfect as the first time! The rooms are very nice with the private pool and the service at this hotel is remarkable. Nice and quiet hotel with high standard of food, accommodations and service.
This is truly paradise on earth!
I stayed here for 7 nights. While most people staying in this hotel were couples and families, I felt very comfortable staying here by myself. The staff are very friendly and so welcoming. The buffet breakfast was delicious and by far the nicest I’ve had in any hotel. The range and variety of foods and drinks was excellent, with lots of healthy options too. The pool in my room was perfect and helped cool me down after a humid day. I had s lovely relaxing stay and I would love to return someday.
Stayed at this hotel four four nights.
Takes around three hours from Bangkok Airport. Cost of hotel transfer around 4000 Baht, 4400 if you use AOT
We booked the Moonlight Pool Suite, room 331 which was fantastic. Although we never used the roof top sunbathing area, the plunge pool on the balcony and associated sofa was bathed with sunlight making the pool reasonably warm but not too hot.
Breakfast was of excellent quality and variety.
Location of the hotel is great, 10 min walk to the Night Market, 10 minute walk in the other direction to Market Village shopping mall.
Would I stay here again?
We first visited Cape Nidhra in 2015 and a return visit was always in our plans. You do always worry that the place may not maintain its appeal, but this place blew that away and those kind of thoughts do not apply, because it’s simply perfect.
We arrived early afternoon, After our transfer from Bangkok, check in was effortless and quick. Then off to the room, within 3 minutes later our cases arrived and complete relaxation began. If you want to unwind and worry about nothing but the colour of the sky, then this place must be on your list.
The room - we were on the 2nd floor, (lifts are available but given walking up the stairs is probably the hardest thing you will do, give the stairs a go😉). Enter the room into a huge open area with sitting area and enormous bed, Tv, fridge, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facility, alarm clock. Behind the back wall of the bed the bathroom is huge, separate shower and twin hand basins. (Don’t bother with toiletries they restock twice a day). Then the best bit, the full width of the room, open the curtains and you have wall to wall glass, folding doors that open onto the decked area with your own private plunge pool. (It’s not a swimming pool and it’s not heated, but, after a day sunbathing it is the best feeling in the world to jump right in!!). I think the trick is just get in, if you try to walk in you won’t get past your big toe, but honestly after 20 seconds your body re-adjusts and it actually becomes normal.
Sunbathing - 2 options available, all around the pool you have a choice of loungers or massive covered beds, or, between the pool and the beach various loungers offering different shaded options. The good news is, you will never struggle to find a bed, a few times we at breakfast late, and didn’t get down until 10 and despite us looking for 4 beds, we had plenty choice. Towels are provided by the pool guys (2 per person) who will accompany you to your chosen location and will lay the towels out for you (you are there to relax😉). At 2pm every day the pool guys arrive with cold towels and then with an afternoon surprise, ice lolly, melon, fish who knows, but a lovely treat. The towels are amazing!
Food - where to begin! I’m a vegetarian and quite a fussy one, I don’t eat animals (it’s a personal thing not an ethical thing) here, I could have eaten all day, if you can’t find something, ask, you won’t have to ask again. The breakfast choice ranges from cereal to egg fried rice and just about everything else in between. Fruit, name it, juice, they’ll have it. If you want a smoothie, pick the ingredients. For you carnivores, eggs anyway you want, meat, lots off. The only negative I will ever write about this hotel is about the placement of the breakfast toaster!! It’s in a corner, where if everyone did the same thing and moved out the way once they added their bread to the machine, it would probably work, unfortunately not every nation employs or promotes toaster etiquette, therefore the morning ritual becomes an unnecessary challenge! (And why do people always put croissants in a machine that clearly isn’t designed for them😂😂😂).
Lunch - a pleasurable experience, good set menu, but as per breakfast if you want to amend anything they are more than happy to accommodate. I like pasta and went for that option a few times, and each time it was different and perfect.
Rocks Bar - happy hour runs from 5pm to 7pm and is a perfect way to watch the sun go down, sitting on the roof terrace. Good choice of drink options.
The staff - are so polite and respectful, they will never pass you by without acknowledging your presence. Waiters attentive, housekeepers are efficiently perfect and the salute from the security guys is wonderful.
Hua Hin - a fantastic place that never stops, our usual haunt off an evening was the main night market, a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Just be aware the pavements aren’t British! To be fair most aren’t finished or the guys laying them gave in!!! Some of the kerbs require mountain equipment they are enormous. On the way you will at some point come across “the birds” usually at the main junction, I think every bird in Thailand meets on the cables above the road, noisy and of course, messy😳, beware what’s above you.
Night market (the main one)- mix of collectibles from small trinkets to the latest creations by Gucci, Prada etc (not sure if they have stalls around the world, but they do here) haggle, we opted for halting whatever the vendors first price was then worked from their. Unless you ask them to pay you you won’t offend by making an offer below the price they want, it’s fun. If you want to try authentic Thai street food then the night market is the place to give it a go. If you like people watching then this place will deliver, I can guarantee you won’t have the same experience twice.
Night Market (the wee one!) directly opposite the entrance to Cale Nidhra, nowhere near as vibrant as the other one, but still good fun and fair mix of collectibles.
Shopping- if you don’t think you will survive without some full on retail therapy, Hua Hin offers 2 shopping centres, first one exit Nidhra, turn left and walk about 15-20 mins good choice of shops, not to big probably more food than retail but air conned and worth a visit. Second one is fairly new Blu Point, again exit Nidhra, turn left, then hail a tuc tuc!! This one a wee but further but 150baht should do it. Full on retail, designer to local artists and definitely worth a visit on a rainy day😮.
Tuc Tuc’- love them or hate them you must give them a go, 100baht is the usual go anywhere fee. Get one back after a nightly visit to the night market, , try to find the disco one!!
Sorry that went on a bit, we love Thailand and we love Cape Nidhra and we really hope you do too♥️.
