Enjoy the soft light and elegantly faded details of Porto from the panoramic rooftop and comfortable interiors of the Premium Porto Downtown. Relax and recharge in bright, modern rooms with all the facilities and personal attention you would expect from a four star hotel. Premium Porto Downtown features charming contemporary details throughout, fluffy bathrobes, marble-detailed bathrooms, and a spacious, stylish sun terrace.
The excellent, central location in the historic centre of Porto means you are in walking distance of the best of the city; blue azulejo facades of ancient towers, churches, and train stations, restaurants and cafes where you can sample traditional Portuguese fare – don’s miss the custard tarts and Francesinha, Porto’s famous beefed (or sausaged!) up Croque-Monsieur. Winding through the centre, the mighty Douro river and its Eiffel-esque Dom Luis I Bridge connect you to the famous Port wine cellars and the delicious tastings within.
How to Get There
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Premium Porto Downtown.
- The location was within walking distance to the city center, tourist attractions, shuttles for city viewing, restaurants, and markets.
- The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- The rooms were clean and pleasant.
- The rooftop had amazing views.
- Parking garage is very close to the hotel. This is a big plus if you have a rental car.
I would recommend this location if you're looking for a hotel!
I travel often and Talita, Caroline, Daniella and Katya, amongst others, were AWESOME! I cant say enough about them. Great hospitality!
The roof top deck is awesome too! We spent quite a bit of time at night here.
My partner an I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights.
The hotel's location is within walking distance from the city centre and within walking distance from very good restaurants, the river and the public transport.
The hotel was comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, though not overbearingly friendly.
We required help and assistance twice during our stay and both times the service was fast, efficient and friendly.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening. Though the food and wine choice were good I was a little suspicious that there were only 2 couples in the restaurant. However, I soon realised that the local people start going out in the evening a lot later than we expected and, by the time we left the restaurant it was filling up rapidly.
We had breakfast every morning of our stay and I found the quality and choice of food available to be quite good.
I would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again.
The hotel staff were excellent - from the receptionists to the waitresses in the restaurant - all were helpful and friendly. They offered great advice on what and to see and how to get around with the minimum of fuss.
We had 3 rooms for 3 nights for 6 persons on the 5th floor. From the floor plan photo I added, you will see there are two rooms that are not rectangular. Room 502 where we stayed (not rectangular) was a bit less convenient than the others. The bathroom size was fine, and the shower included a full sliding door. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. They directed us to Café Santiago for the Francesinhas, and they were very good. Across the street from the hotel there was an ice cream place that was always full, and around the block a small supermarket. The breakfast was quite good, on the 8th floor. One day was quite busy, the other two less so. There were 2 persons outside of the kitchen serving and replenishing, and one in the kitchen. Special coffee requests were handled very well. There was a small area outside where a seagull hung around waiting for a treat. You walked up from the 8th to the open terrace on the roof. We liked to walk, and generally walked from the hotel to the areas we wanted to visit. The day we checked out we were told by the woman at the front desk when we requested a taxi for 4 to the train station that the trains were generally not running because of a work stoppage. She helped us exploring alternatives for getting the 4 to Lisbon. During that effort, the taxi she called had arrived. The taxi driver was aware of the train problem, and when we asked, he was willing, and got approval to drive the 4 to Lisbon for a fee we considered reasonable given the predicament. The last minute potential disaster was averted. Note that when taxis are called from the telephone stand in the lobby, a small surcharge is added to the taxi fare.
