How to Get There
The hotel enjoys a very central location and is within walking distance from everywhere in Porto. Service was extremely friendly and well-intentioned, and everyone spoke good English, reception staff, waiters, and the maid included. Prices were in line with other hotels in the area.
I had booked a standard ”gallery” room. The room that I got (509) was a letdown. It was small and dark, and had no amenities. No safe, not even a pen in the room. The closet was just a curtain, behind which was a rack. No shelves anywhere in the room. I had also booked a room with a bathtub, but there was only a shower in the room. The room, while clean and tidy, came nowhere close to four star standards.
After the first night, they agreed to move me to another standard ”gallery” room, which was from a different world. It was larger and lighter, had a bathtub, a safe, a 0.75 L bottle of water (not replenished), even a coffee maker. This room fulfilled four star criteria just fine. If you’re travelling by yourself, make sure not to book a single room!
Both rooms had effective a/c and fast and reliable wi-fi. Water pressure in the shower was good. There was only one socket, which made charging devices a bit challenging.
Breakfast was served 6:30-10. It was not too crowded, and the buffet selection was relatively wide with fresh fruit, hot items, a variety of breads, cold cuts, cheeses and sweet bakery items etc. Hot drinks were brought to the table.
The restaurant also served an excellent three course lunch for €18, with a daily changing menu. Many of the dishes were local specialities and the food and service were excellent. If you avoid hotel restaurants when travelling, make an exception here! The restaurant is open for à la carte dinner, as well.
I would definitely stay here again if my travels take me to Porto, but I’d need to be sure beforehand that I get assigned a proper room.
This is very nice hotel with perfect location. Just a few meters near the Av. dos Aliados. Very good and tasty breakfast. Friendly staff. The only thing, that looks me little strange, all walls in the bathroom and the toilet are from the transparent glass.
Very unique hotel in Porto. Room was quite nice and the bathroom is something most Americans won't have seen before. We were very comfortable, the breakfast was wonderful, and we enjoyed this hotel very much. It was in a fantastic location in Porto.
