Nice Hotel, Excelent location
Reviewed 21 hours ago

Excelent location, nice design, but poor lighting especially on the room (lady's will not like the light for doing makeup).
Our room was not very spacious, but was enough. Had some problems keeping the shower water inside the shower cabin... Extra towels solved that problem.
Private garage but with not many available places (so book it in advance if you can)
For the price I was expecting a little more but, never the less, a nice option when in Porto.

Design beats functionality

Very nice Designer Hotel, however the focus is rather in “theater” Design than on Hotel.
On arrival there was a group of ladies checking in , so obviously that takes time. However 4 employées behind the bar were fighting with systems , an ownership change (?) from February so took very long to fix all. I asked two additional clerk standing there for a glass of wine. Whilst they had nothing to do and saw the hassle their advise was “try at the bar” instead of getting us some.
30 min later after check in we took the room, all very dark in the hotel, but we found it . Nice room, good beds, but very little space for luggage or to store the amenities in the bathroom. Again design over function. Only two plugs for electricity.
Breakfast was good. Dinner was ok, but service somewhat chaotic, like not able to bring bread before the chefs surprise ( a peace of spring roll) was served.
Checkout worked well. Not a good example of how a design hotel should be, but an alright city hotel . Staff with some exceptions very friendly .

Good Location But Too Dark
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel location allowed us to walk to all the sites we visited. The rooms were spacious, but as noted in the other reviews, they were too dark. Also, there is a clear glass wall for the bathroom. The toilet was visible from the front door. There was a lack of privacy when using the bathroom. One of our group mentioned the dark decor and was told the hotel was going to undergo an upgrade, including the color scheme. Overall we were pleased with the hotel.

Good position, awful hotel
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The checkin at reception is too long and I think they would ignore you if they could. The hotel is all about theatre design and nothing about comfort. You’re supposed to feel like you’re in an opera house after the performance has started. I just felt like I was in a dungeon everywhere in the hotel. It’s ridiculously dark. The corridors are dark. The room was dark. Everything brown and looked dirty. Brown floor brown carpet brown curtains brown sheer curtains brown furniture and awful lighting. Bathroom inadequate with nowhere to hang anything. No hair conditioner. The bed was not too good and the curved bedside tables are stupid.

Breakfast was ok. The bellboy staff were nice. The location is convenient.

I would never recommend this hotel.
