Amazing Wine Resort
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We spent 3 days at Monverde.
The room was super nice, very well located in the middle of the vineyards.
The food was very good, the tasting menu with wine pairing was top! The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly.
We had also a wine tasting and a picnic: amazing experience!
For sure we will return!

An excellent hotel
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We are staying at the hotel and having a great time. The time of the year and the grapevines are marvelous. An extending view just out of the room. The rooms are very clean, the bed linens are soft and a lot of nature is surrounding the rooms. The dinner was very good although the prices are above the average.
The spa is clean with two pools.
The services both of the staff of the hotel and in the dining room were exceptional. We got wine and cookies to the room.
The only thing that I have to comment is that I asked the girl in the reception for extra coffee in the room and she might’ve forgotten and when we asked for a little milk for the coffee we had to pay extra 4 euro (it doesn’t honor the hotel/staff )
Otherwise I absolutely recommend this hotel.

Fantastic stay

I booked our 2 day stay based on the reviews and we were even more impressed with the resort.
It is an hour away from the Douro Valley, which I was not aware of, but we had such a fantastic experience that I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Beautiful, serene architecture, lovely rooms and truly fantastic food. We ate both nights at the restaurant and had wonderful service as well. I also had a great, last minute massage at the spa. Value for the money is outstanding!

Overrated, Pricey with poor management
Reviewed 1 month ago

Rooms are adequate and beds are confortable, this is were the good parts end. Service was terribly slow, food was pricey and under par, saw the hotel manager be extremely presumptuous to guests and location is far away from everything. Calm is one thing, boring is something else entirely. Spa was a joke. Better options even for wine lovers all around the Douro region and for same or better prices.
