The majestic colonial-style building of the Henry Hotel, complemented by gardens of swaying vines and lush foliage, offer an entrance into an eclectic oasis, hidden from the busy streets of Manila.
Here, furnishing and fixtures have been meticulously curated by creative minds, resulting in a marriage of classic grandeur and fascinating modernity. Outside, you’ll find manicured shrubbery fringing stately buildings, before stepping into a colourful interior of patterns. You can see different aspects of Manila’s culture with the hotel’s design. Explore and you’ll find quirky elements of design throughout the space. For example, at the hotel’s restaurant, Apartment 1B, vintage tile patterns and coloured glass windows contrast with the sleek gold divider of the lobby. The rooms are equally fascinating and are, of course, cosy and comfortable. Think plush fabrics and bright, airy spaces.
Centrally located, the hotel is just the place to start your Manila adventure. With a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and a Travellers’ Choice Award in the bag, the hotel definitely won’t disappoint.
How to Get There
This is our 2nd time experiencing accommodation at the Henry, with the first in their Cebu property. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay. It was a breeze -- from my initial call to inquire, to the booking confirmation, actual stay, and checkout. It was also a treat that the property has an adjacent art gallery, art collection/store -- accessible to guest (no fees and with great finds at low prices). The property here in Manila is a hidden gem. If you want a quiet place to spend time with a love one.. The Henry Hotel in Manila is highly recommended.
We stopped here overnight and chose it in preference to an airport hotel. It took about 25 minutes in a taxi to hotel. Hotel is gated with security but once inside it is a real oasis. A very colonial feel with lovely gardens. The room was spacious and extremely clean, huge bed!!. The customer service was excellent from the moment of arrival. We had a massage which was exceptional and only 1000 Pesos for 2 hours. Food was ok if a little over priced for Philippines standards. I recommend this whole heartedly for a night or two.
The hotel was clean, comfy beds with lovely soft sheets and big fluffy pillows. Food was excellent particularly the breakfasts and staff were attentive but not intrusive. An oasis of calm in a chaotic city. Thank you for a wonderful stay Henry Hotel.
We really don't like the location of this hotel but since we were only for a night, we decided to experience the charm of this old lovely residential houses. Check-in was a breeze, room is spacious and breakfast is good enough, the staff are attentive . What attracted us to this hotel is the ambiance- big old trees, garden, and old charming residential houses. The downside is the inferior location. And for a nice hotel like this, please change the old bath towels.
This is a lovely hotel, full of history, excellent helpful staff, lovely food. we only stayed for one night in transit but would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. we stayed in the white colonial house which is really amazing.
