Boutique beach retreat in Phang Nga with tons of free water sports, butler service and sea views from all rooms
On Natai Beach in Phang Nga, a refreshingly undeveloped stretch of coastline just north of Phuket, Le Coral Hideaway is a new boutique beach retreat where butler service comes standard and all rooms face the Andaman Sea. A small river, which you can cross by bridge or boat, separates the resort from the golden sands of Natai, and breezy modern interiors keep things feeling distinctly beachy. The restaurants are open to the elements, and the sunken sofas in the gardens provide sea views from every angle.
Bed and Bath
Le Coral's 58 guestrooms are modern, light-flooded spaces with private balconies overlooking the gardens and the emerald-green Andaman Sea. Each has been designed to augment the sweeping ocean vistas, with distressed wood walls, blue-green silks, big swaths of glass and Molton Brown’s marine-themed energizing sea moss amenities in the bathrooms. The pool access rooms and Jacuzzi suites are made for two but — lovers beware — they can be seen from the pool.
The poolside La Perla restaurant serves international and Asian favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or you can sneak upstairs to the Coral Moon lounge for intimate Thai dining and cocktails on the terrace. For lighter bites, head to the beach bar, which is perfectly positioned for watching the stunning sunsets. Elsewhere guests can take advantage of a library, a fitness center and a petite spa for traditional Thai treatments.
In the Area
A stay in sleepy Natai is all about long walks on seemingly endless golden beaches and languorous spa sessions. The hotel can help you organize more active pursuits, including yachting and golfing, or diving and snorkeling around the world class dive sites around the Similan Islands. For something a bit more upmarket, head 100 meters down the beach to the wonderful Aziamendi restaurant, which is helmed by the thrice Michelin-awarded chef Eneko Atxa and recently made it onto Restaurant magazine’s World’s 100 Best Restaurants list.
