Situated in an idyllic spot less than two hours up the coast from Phuket, the tranquil seaside town of Khao Lak is the perfect getaway for the discerning traveler: there’s less wild partying, more appreciation for the area’s world-class scuba diving and the kind of pristine beaches you could spend hours lounging on. Khao Lak even has restrictions on how tall buildings can be in order to preserve the area’s sleepy charm. X2 Khao Lak Anda Mani Resort embodies this spirit, with just nine rooms and villas set along its white-sand beach, all against a lush mountain backdrop.
With resorts across Thailand that emphasise high design and luxury, X2 has earned a loyal following among travelers who like their holidays with a slice of serenity. The suites are elegant and tastefully designed, highlighted by expansive open verandas that are ideal for taking in the stunning sunsets. Social life centers around the free-form swimming pool and the 4K Restaurant, where your culinary desires are fulfilled and dishes are served in a stunning setting. Whatever your game, peacefulness is the aim here.
Looking more like a SoHo loft than a Thai resort room, the 540-square-foot Suite at X2 Khao Lak Anda Mani boasts light woods, sharp angles and chic furnishings. The luxe bathrooms have double vanities and rain showers and are stocked with handpicked amenities. Of course, you’re not likely to forget where you are after catching the epic sunset from the open veranda.

Guests flock throughout the day to 4K – pronounced “fork” – which offers a mix of Thai and international dishes that are always fresh and seasonal.
Khao Lak is conveniently located just an hour’s drive north of Phuket International Airport, though its blissed-out vibe makes it feel much more remote. The area is perfect for exploration, whether you borrow a bike from the resort to visit nearby temples and waterfalls or opt to take a day trip out to the Similan Islands for a diving session.
How to Get There
Beautiful functional room, everything catered for
and very comfortable, exceptional staff and management make this a wonderful experience. Look forward to returning to this great peaceful location and sad to be leaving.
This is an average small hotel that aims way above its real standard and value. It is not really bad, we actually spent a couple of relaxing days there, but it is simply not up there where the management think they should be. The staff are generally nice, almost too nice, but mainly woefully untrained and extremely slow. We were also "assaulted" by the one called Barbie, immediately upon arrival, trying to sell us some package tour with "her friends" - we finally gave in, only to stop the said "tour" less then half an hour after it started, as it was a horrible experience from the very beginning. It took a while to even get her to not charge us the full amount for the "tour", let alone refund us for what was obviously a scam. Most of the hotel facilities are in a dire need of a fresh coat of paint, and the small pool could use a fair bit of scrubbing too. All in all, we managed to relax there for a few days after all, but would never consider returning... (We do travel the world a lot, I am a professional travel photographer, and have stayed in lots of wildly various places, from freezing tents on Mount Kenya, to ridiculously luxurious villas in Bali, for example, so we are not inexperienced or picky in that regard - it is only that we dislike "fake representation" and that is what this place feels like, a bit of a fake...)
This is my first time to visit Khao Lak. I didnt expect much before coming but the trip was very nice. We landed in Phuket, rent a car and drive from Phuket to Khao Lak. The car rent was only around 600 THB per day, so i recommend.
X2 was very nice, nuce cozy quiet beach which you can spent all day..lying, swimming and chill
When we went there, all staffs are really welcome even we went late. The room is so nice , fresh smell , so clean. Staffs also prepare bathtub and warm water for us, so impressive. Breakfast is also good and many choices. The place is not big but so comfortable and remarkable.
