How to Get There
We recently stayed 5 nights at the Manathai and totally loved our stay there. There was a small mix up of the outstanding balance left to pay when we checked in (they tried to charge us more but I had everything fully written in email still) but it was soon sorted out.
We had a Deluxe Suite which was perfect for our family of 4. I will say however that if we stay again we would request a top floor room as for 2 nights of our stay the people above us were very noisy late at night stomping around and slamming doors. Not the hotels fault though.
We found the breakfast to be of good quality and varied. We did get room service one night for dinner when we were too tired to go out and this was also good but obviously dearer than going to the great local beach restaurants.
The construction did not bother us at all in our stay. Yes you could hear it but we were enjoying ourselves too much for it to register. As others have said the beach is long, quiet and very beautiful. Will be a shame when more hotels get built in the area but one day we hope to return.
Hotel is big and spacious. Rooms are clean and fresh, massive beds!!
Breakfast is very good and lots to choose from. The beach is beautiful.
Only negative thing would be that its quite far from town and that you have to go with taxi to different restaurants.
Would highly recommend
After endless hours of searching for a beautiful and tranquil, yet reasonably priced, family orientated wedding venue, we finally settled on the Manathai. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!
Wap and her team are amazing! They went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay and beautiful wedding day! If you are looking for a place to simply relax, maybe honeymoon/celebrate an anniversary or even get married then look no further!
The location is stunning. The large swimming pool is just off the clean, secluded beach with a lushious green canopy.
You can take out kayaks, join in on yoga or a variety of child friendly activites. If you want to explore then you can travel to the local beautiful national park with waterfalls! If you want to go further a field then there is a tour company on the beach that offers a variety of reasonably priced packages- we did a day trip to James Bond Island!
The complimentary hot and cold contiential breakfast offered at the hotel was very tasty, and one of the best we had during our travel of Thailand.
The hotel has a number of restaurants which offer a mixture of traditional thai and western cuisine at reasonable prices. There are also a number of beach restaurants within short walking distance.
We stayed in a pool villa just off the beach which came with a number of complimentary extras, such as fruit basket, free shuttle bus, cocktails and a couples' massage.
For anyone considering a blessing or wedding, we had a traditional thai ceremony on the beach and then visited the local national park, before having a 5 course sunset meal for 2 on the beach.
Wap, we cannot thank you enough!
We (2 adults + infant) just had a lovely 2 weeks holiday in Manathai hotel, which we highly enjoyed it. Service was excellent, staff very helpful and friendly, rooms cleaned everyday, great breakfast and good food in the hotel restaurants. We did have a mold in our bathroom, which was promptly fixed after reporting. There is a construction going on right next to this hotel, but it did not disturbed us in any way. Even our front door was facing the construction site, we could barely hear anything inside the room, almost nothing. The trickiest part about this hotel - is the location. Beach like this is hard to find in touristy spots in the south of Thailand. Vast, empty, absolutely peaceful and beautiful. It does come with the price of a 15-20 minutes commute to the nearest town and slightly higher prices than average. Hotel does provide shuttle bus to Khao Lak, but it runs only between 14:00-20:00 o'clock. Taxi one way costs about 300B. So for those, who would like to go out and shopping or eating out every night, it might not be the best location wise, but for peaceful family holiday it was very good. As a matter of fact , there were many families with small kids.
We ate lunch there and had Massaman lamb curry, Thai fried rice, Pad Thai Goong prawn) and Satay chicken. All meals were superbly presented and the taste was exquisite for all the dishes. The service was excellent, efficient and very friendly.
I think this is the best time meal we have ever had.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the restaurant.
