A luxurious five-star hotel in the heart of Subang Jaya, with daily breakfast and a welcome drink included

The Lowdown

As SouthEast Asia’s rising star, Malaysia wows with colonial architecture, rolling green hills, tribal villages and glistening white sands. But it’s the space-age and neck-straining glass and steel skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur that really dazzle, which is why the location of this upscale crash-pad just 15 minutes from the capital could not be better.
Set in the heart of Subang Jaya with the township’s mega-sized shopping malls, art galleries, restaurants and state-of-the-art attractions on your doorstep, there’s enough to keep you busy from dawn until dusk. However, if the action all gets a little too fast-paced, you’re assured respite by way of the hotel’s full-service spa, state-of-the-art gym, and superb dining options.
Each of the 478 rooms and suites impress with fashion-forward décor; expect neutral hues, contemporary fixtures and fittings, and good-size beds dressed with luxe bedlinen. There’s also fully-stocked minibars that are replenished daily, great-looking bathrooms, a larger-than-average selection of in-room gadgetry, and floor-to-ceiling windows for cracking Kuala Lumpur views.

Has seen better days...

I was here for a business trip and needed somewhere close to the venue I was travelling to each day. I wasn’t really expecting much and it suited my rather spartan requirements but in the interests of helping others...

Okay, so the room I had was pretty tired and basic. It had a faint but pervasive odour of cigarette smoke. The bedding was not 100% clean. The real pain was the shower, where the bath tub design funnelled all the water onto the bathroom floor. It was such a pain!

The breakfast buffet was okay but only because it was included (and as this was a business trip I was not paying) otherwise it was just more on a continuing theme of ‘this place has definitely seen better days’. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re alone and not really in holiday mode!

Not happy

We stayed for one night but was given an old, smelly room. Everything in the room was old including the bathroom. I was very unhappy with the services and room. Receptionist was not friendly. When i asked whether there is any welcome drink for first time guests, she answered with impolite tone, “only for hotel privilege members”. I won’t be back again for this hotel.

I lost RM50 during the stay

I am very disappointed with such an expensive and high class hotel with the staff not honest.

I have stayed in this hotel for 2 days. On the last day before i checked out, I leave my bag pack and luggage in the room and then i went to downstairs for breakfast. Before i leave the room, i am very very sure the amount of money i have in my wallet (i put my wallet at the bottom of the bag pack)

After i came back from breakfast, i saw the housekeeping maid just left my room. Immediately, i went into my room and check my wallet. I lost RM50!

I have reported to the Guest Service Manager but unfortunately the answer replied was very unsatisfactory.

An excellent place to stay

My partner had the opportunity to spend 5 nights at the Dorsett Gran Subang. We found it to be the best place we have stayed in during our holidays. we moved to another location and regretted checking out wishing we had chosen to stay longer. The Chef in the Terraz Brasserie ensured that my dietary requirements were catered for during breakfast. and Victor greeted us each morning with his friendly smile and service. We would like to nominate Victor as a star Employee. During our stay we enjoyed the pool, gym, sauna and spa each day. The evening entertainment was both enjoyable and relaxing especially the ladies night on Wednesday was s much fun. On a whole our whole experience at the hotel was nothing but the best. We will definitely be back to stay whenever we visit Malaysia in the future. We are very grateful Giovanna & Derek
