How to Get There
Second time staying at this property. This time around, the age is truly showing. The concierge lounge was also a bit disappointing. The location is not very central, but the cobblestone streets surrounding the hotel are charming. This property has potential to be great. However, it needs a desperate renovation. Will stay elsewhere until renovations are completed.
If touring Philadelphia, you can't beat this hotel's location. You can walk to most of the major historical sites (Independence Hall, Liberty Bell...) and the old time restaurants (City Tavern, Bookbinders..). It is right on the edge of Society Hill and its centuries old brownstones along with some of the better restaurants in town. A quick drive or cab ride to South Philly and the many Italian restaurants along with the old fish market...
Prices for rooms are generally reasonable but valet parking is outrageous . Service at the Taste was less than desirable. Front desk reception was relatively fast but didn't follow up and expedite housekeeping as one of two rooms not ready at 3:45PM! Had to do it myself with the housekeeper assigned to the floor.
Generally, bed was comfortable, room was extra large and quiet, batroom a bit small and dated BUT overall, a satisfactory experience.
Stayed over the weekend wile attending a wedding. The hotel is well appointed and feels luxurious. The front desk staff was attentive. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. We had plenty of space for our things. The bed was very comfortable. The small complaints we had were that when we returned from a day out in Philly, at about 3 pm. our room was not made up and we had to shower and get ready for the wedding that night. It was disappointing and we had to call to get fresh towels. When we returned for the night, the room was cleaned. Also, the television channels are relatively limited and the remote did not work well. I would definitely stay here again, it is a very nice hotel.
Took my family away for the Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was perfect for us especially for the grandkids. The staff especially the manager Giancarlo couldn't do enough for us . The indoor pool was key. Kept the kids busy for many hours. location was perfect for us . The waterfront was across the street. The holiday fair just started and we ice skated . Thanks so much for an unforgetable weekend
Got stuck at PHL airport and scrambled to find this hotel. It was very clean and modern, and convenient to I95. Rooms were decent sized and staff was ok (some were a little odd actually but it was around 1am).
