How to Get There
Unique and interesting decor. Superb breakfast! Welcoming and gracious hosts. Definitely beats any hotel/motel in the area both in quality and price. Convenient to Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Wyeth Museum, Brandywine Battlefield, Valley Forge, ... A bit west of Philly but public transit is very good.
I have been staying at ALPENHOF for years, when I visit my family in the area. My husband and I love the beautiful rooms, suites and the cottage — we’ve been in all of them! The breakfasts are a treat — we meet interesting people who are also guests, and start the day on a happy note with Roland’s excellent food. His lovely wife Ang has decorated each one of the rooms with her unique touch and design, and the flower gardens around the pool are spectacular. We couldn’t ever find the warmth and comfort of Alpenhof in a hotel; it’s become our home away from home. Philadelphia’s many museums, Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine battlefield, Winterthur, and Andrew Wyeth’s old stomping ground are within an hour’s drive from Media, and so is the Philadelphia Airport. All in all, you’re doing yourself a favor if you spend a few days in this lovely part of the country, full of history, art, and natural beauty!
Beautiful, artsy, original B&B. Very nice garden and pool. Roland is friendly and accommodating. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful dining room. You can select from a menu. We stayed in the Monica room and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely recommend this home to people visiting in the area. Trish and Bob Hemler
Been to a lot of B&Bs in the past but this is one of the best we have stayed in. We treated ourselves to the Master Suite. It was a very spacious room. The host, Roland, is warm and welcoming, enthusiastic about the surrounding area, just makes you want to explore. The Inn is an eclectic mix of art, objects and gardens, every where you turn, something interesting to look at. Be forewarned that there are three wonderful dogs on the premises, you may just want to sneak some of that delicious bacon to. We will return and continue to recommend.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Alpenhof Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Master Suite. The B&B is a visual delight with all sorts of interesting pieces of art, paintings and sketches on the walls. The breakfast was a treat. Roland was always helpful for anything that we needed.
