How to Get There
We have stayed in over 100 bed and breakfast establishments in the past three decades with many being extraordinary but Alpenhof (alpine home) rises to another level in all aspects of hospitality. The room was lovely, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was second to none; made to order, perfectly cooked, and well presented. The hosts, Roland and Ahn, were delightful, personable, and made us feel quite at home. The grounds are exquisite, impeccably maintained, and pleasing to the eye. Superlatives abound at this quaint home. We will be back every time we venture into this part of Pennsylvania. Thank you, Roland and Ahn for a wonderful stay. David and Lucinda.
This spectacular bed and breakfast was a short trip from our home in Southern NJ and just perfect for an Easter weekend getaway. We stayed in the Master Suite which was large, clean, very comfortable and filled with fascinating artwork and antiques (like the rest of the house). The bathroom was large, clean and had a nice shower with great water pressure. Roland and Anh were wonderful hosts. They were very accommodating and helpful and gave us suggestions on where to eat and what to see in the area. Roland shared the fascinating history of the house and his family and was a delight to talk to. Our breakfast each morning was delicious. We started with fresh brewed coffee, a scone or a muffin, fresh fruit, and then got to order off of a menu and had everything prepared exactly as ordered. The house is in a rural quiet area but close enough to visit the sites nearby. We enjoyed talking with the other guests at breakfast and spending time relaxing in the large living room. We will definitely be back!
If you stay at bed and breakfast inns to experience incredible warmth and hospitality, unique and stunning places and yummy food, you’ll get it all here. We’ve stayed twice now and loved it both times. The house looks like a chalet with incredible detail and amazing artwork inside. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and immaculate. And breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Your host, Roland is warm, accommodating and really fun to talk to. Sitting in front of the fire with a cup of tea in the two story living room made me feel like I was in Europe. Media is close by with some great restaurant choices. Hoping to go back!
Amazing house with beautiful construction and artwork decorating every wall. The breakfast was made-to-order with a wide array of options. The hosts were very accommodating with our arrival and departure times. Make sure to tour the house and inquire about its history. The other guests that we stayed with were delightful to talk to at breakfast. If you like dogs, they have 3 labs that love to be petted. We took extra showers because of how comfortable the rain shower head was. The cleanliness was above and beyond!
This was our first B&B stay anywhere. This definitely will not be our last. Roland was a wonderful host, the room and establishment clean and well cared for, and the breakfast delicious. We will be back. Thank you, Roland!-Jim and Julie Frost
