We don't want to leave!

Amazing house with beautiful construction and artwork decorating every wall. The breakfast was made-to-order with a wide array of options. The hosts were very accommodating with our arrival and departure times. Make sure to tour the house and inquire about its history. The other guests that we stayed with were delightful to talk to at breakfast. If you like dogs, they have 3 labs that love to be petted. We took extra showers because of how comfortable the rain shower head was. The cleanliness was above and beyond!

Excellent!

This was our first B&B stay anywhere. This definitely will not be our last. Roland was a wonderful host, the room and establishment clean and well cared for, and the breakfast delicious. We will be back. Thank you, Roland!-Jim and Julie Frost

Our stay was wonderful. The history of this 300 yr old bldg shared by it's owner, Rowland, kept us captivated. It's decor and old world style spoke volumes to it's ambiance. Not far from the quaint town of Media, it's an ideal place to rest your head after visiting any of the great places to eat or spend time over libations. Rowland couldn't be more accommodating and eager to offer suggestions. Comfortable, cozy, warm and quiet is in no short supply. Oh, and breakfast was a great way to start the day. Will return.

Unique and interesting decor. Superb breakfast! Welcoming and gracious hosts. Definitely beats any hotel/motel in the area both in quality and price. Convenient to Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Wyeth Museum, Brandywine Battlefield, Valley Forge, ... A bit west of Philly but public transit is very good.

I have been staying at ALPENHOF for years, when I visit my family in the area. My husband and I love the beautiful rooms, suites and the cottage — we’ve been in all of them! The breakfasts are a treat — we meet interesting people who are also guests, and start the day on a happy note with Roland’s excellent food. His lovely wife Ang has decorated each one of the rooms with her unique touch and design, and the flower gardens around the pool are spectacular. We couldn’t ever find the warmth and comfort of Alpenhof in a hotel; it’s become our home away from home. Philadelphia’s many museums, Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine battlefield, Winterthur, and Andrew Wyeth’s old stomping ground are within an hour’s drive from Media, and so is the Philadelphia Airport. All in all, you’re doing yourself a favor if you spend a few days in this lovely part of the country, full of history, art, and natural beauty!
