Lovely B and B!
Reviewed 7 days ago

I tend toward hotels and not B and B’s however I will stay at the Alpenhof now whenever I am in the area! The Alpenhof is great! We had the Grand Master Suite because we needed a third bed for our college aged son and it worked out well. The Alpenhof offers art work at every turn and gardens to die for. The pottery is lovely. The breakfast dishes are all handmade pottery!
I can’t say enough about the lovely rooms, the quaint feel and the hosts - Roland and three house pups (especially Lola). We will be back!!
You won’t be sorry if you stay at the Alpenhof!

All you could ever want

This place has all that you could possibly want for an amazing stay. I had a blast.
Location-close to downtown Media, adjacent to Ridley State Park, plus only 15 minutes to Philadelphia International airport and it's a gorgeous drive over.
Property-So much care has gone into the landscaping that you'll want to just soak it all in both day and night. Stone walkways, lush greenery, multiple gardens with a variety of flowers and even blown glass lighted orbs to light the driveway and pathways to the gardens at night. There's even a pool which I've seen few B&B's have and is a +.
Decor-The common room is to die for because you could literally have a small jam session or singalong in there near the fireplace if you wanted to with the guitars and piano in there while sipping your libation of choice. Such a great vibe. There are wood carvings, tapestries, and eclectic art pieces as well.
Hospitality-This is where Roland & Anh shine. The whole house is immaculately clean. The daily linens on my bed smelled divine, a great mattress provided a great sleep, the hot shower never disappoints, lighting & fan were adjustable via switches, cable tv, free wi-fi, breakfast is cooked to order and absolutely delicious. Hosts were laid back, easy to talk to, attentive without being obtrusive and genuinely interested in you as a guest and that your stay was top notch. You will want for nothing.
Because I'm a pet sitter the three super sweet resident dogs were icing on the cake for me. They never bother you but won't turn down a greeting if you want to.
I'll definitely be a guest there whenever I'm up. Thank you R&A. Kathleen

Loved it! Would definately stay again and recommend

The Alpenhof is a wonderful treat. Located in an upscale neighborhood, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful gardens, the room was clean and the bed was very comfy- posh down pillows and comfortable. Breakfast was to order from a menu and the owners and staff ensure everyone is well taken care of.

Hospitality and Comfort!

Roland, the host, is a true gentleman. Attention to detail is evident throughout the entire property. The Grand Master Suite was truly grand. The feeling that you get from seeing the exposed granite exterior wall of the old house from within the guest room was itself, special.

Radiant floor heat gives a feeling of comfort throughout the entire area. The wall sconces and track lighting means you can change the mood and also get as much light as you need. There's a great view overlooking the pool and garden from the room. The shower stall is bathed in natural light and is surrounded by potted plants. There is a feeling of solidness and workmanship and is evidenced in the natural timber which is the base for the dual lavatory basins.

Roland puts the fireplace on during chilly nights in the music room. The gardens are well kept. And the tree dogs are friendly. Breakfast is an opportunity to meet other guests and have a nice conversation before adventuring out and starting the day. We will make it a point to return before too long.

A Great Getaway

As soon as you step inside this B & B you will feel as though you are in a different world. My husband and I had a delightful two-night stay here in the Master Suite. It is clean, large, and uniquely decorated. Plush accommodations. Roland and Anh made us feel very welcome and taken care of. Breakfast was wonderful with a huge bowl of fruit and entrees made to order. Very relaxing. We also enjoyed hanging out in the living room area where you will find various guitars and a well-kept grand piano. Oh, and I can't forget the sweet dogs we were able to hang out with. Would highly recommend!
