Must see for Lincoln’s visit

Must see for Lincoln’s visit. If you visit Gettysburg your visit is not complete without learning more about Lincoln’s visit to Gettysburg to make his address for the dedication of the national cemetery. This hotel where Lincoln stayed is very well thought out and the tour brings it all together of what it was like back in 1863 when Lincoln made his visit and his historical address to the country for the dedication of the cemetery for the honored fallen.
I spent a lot of time just looking at the artifacts, the newspaper articles, the photos and it just made my day in humble terms.

We were looking so forward to staying at The Gettysburg Hotel. The facility and location lived up to our expectations. Since they were short staffed with housekeeping and no manager on a Sunday we were delayed getting into our room for several hours.

Gettysburg Tour

Upon check in, the Suite that I had taken the time to make sure and confirm twice would work for 4 adults by adding a roll away, we were informed would not work due to size, but would it be okay if everyone just slept in 2 beds. That didn't work for my adult son and daughter so they had to drop us down to a regular room that would hold a roll away. They did include the roll away at no charge, but the difficulty in making the change and the lack of apologizing left a bad start to the trip. The A/C in the room never got below 73 degrees even after verifying it should on the morning of the second day. The work out room was great and exceeded my expectations ( only issue was one treadmills TV didn't work) If I was going back to Gettysburg this is one of the best locations, great curb appeal but it just lacks that little extra service level that I expected when I made the reservation.
