File under "can't make this up"!!!

Jeep parked in hotel lot overnight. Big sign said had to move by 6 AM Thursday (next morning). Moved to other lot across street. Friday afternoon (stayed two nights) started Jeep for trip back to New York City and Jeep makes hellacious noise. When I get out to see what's wrong, I SEE MUFFLER ON GROUND AND REAR CATALYTIC CONVERTER MISSING!!! Yes, missing!!! Was cut out of exhaust system, leaving about a foot and a half gap!!!

So I report to Security and they investigate. Takes total of two hours and five security officers to investigate, make reports, check security cameras, take pictures. Also called Bethlehem police and they sent an officer to make a report. By time investigations and reports are made, it is after 5 PM. Can't drive Jeep because muffler is dragging on ground and the noise is horrendous. Had to cancel show at Westchester dinner theatre. Then had to find a tow service and muffler shop. Girlfriend is getting nervous about where we are going to spend night, since it is late Friday afternoon and nothing is going to get done until Saturday. Find Meineke shop nearby but getting ready to close and don't have tow truck. Find tow service and arrange for tow Saturday morning at 6 AM. Then have to beg Sands for a hotel room. Sands keeps the suspense going for a while then finally have a room for night. They give me a room and CHARGE ME ALMOST TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS from my comp account. Could not sleep. Had to call tow service in early morning because needed to get Jeep to Meineke when they open as it is first come, first served. Tow service (Atlas Towing) was great. Driver wrapped tow strap under hanging muffler and lifted muffler above roadway. Put Jeep on flatbed and made room in cab for me and girlfriend and drove us a few miles to Meineke. Got Jeep into Meineke and waited for them to open. Was able to get exhaust welded temporarily with pipe in place of rear converter so Jeep could be driven back to New York City. Meineke was great and had us out in a couple hours.

So, when I ask Sands for name of their insurance to file a claim for vandalism, I'm told by their legal dept that Sands is not responsible and it is park at your own risk. When I ask to get my comp dollars back for the Friday night Stay: no can do!!! Best they will do is give me $50 in free slot play!!! Now keep this in mind. I am a preferred card holder. Their top card level. I lose thousands at their slot machines. And I had to BEG for a room, go thru all this hassle, miss a dinner theatre date, get Jeep towed and fixed AND THEY CHARGE ME FOR THE STAYOVER AND GIVE MY GIRLFRIEND $50 SLOT PLAY!!! Oh, and with all their Security cars and cameras they told my girlfriend the results of their investigations was "inconclusive"!!! And that was after ignoring her three calls and voicemails.

THE SANDS DOESN'T CARE. ALL ABOUT GETTING YOUR MONEY. NOTHING ELSE. Oh and the hotel DOES NOT have breakfast included despite the Trip Advisor listing. They stopped the breakfast about two years ago...

Pleasantly surprised

Came in for a one night stay to see Jim Gaffigan with a buddy. Wasn’t expecting much other than the hotel was close to the venue. I was totally surprised at the size, quality and cleanliness of the rooms. Totally worth the money and it was a pleasure to stay here. As a casino hotel, still surprised at the level of service and appointment.

Great Renovations, the room are bright and clean and comfortable.

Renovated rooms, very clean and comfortable. The casino is fun, the restaurants are good. Nice for an overnight getaway. The only complaint I would have is when busloads of people are waiting for their bus, they aren't playing but sit at all of the slots. They also hover over you when you're playing cards. Other than that I enjoy this casino.

Excellent resort but beware of the Asian Invasion

I spent two nights at the Sands Resort. Lovely hotel. The rooms are clean. Good choice of restaurants. Nice casino. The only negative is the hundreds of Asians that take the buses in from NYC. I have nothing against Asians...but they are not there to gamble. They are taking these buses in so they can sell their casino cards for money. They are loitering. Sleeping everywhere you turn...from the food court tables to the bars. It is ridiculous. I am shocked that management allows this. It really puts a damper on the ambiance of the resort.

day trip to casino

must admit i like what they did with old steel factory, but overall didn't like that place much..number one draw back- its a smoking casino, you do come out smelling like an ashtray, the layout of the games its bit confusing, watch out for older ladies guarding 3 machines at times with theirs cane. as to food , we tried 2 places, first Steelworks bar and grill, staff was amazing , couldn't say that about the food- we got buffet option and it was a mistake. second place we tried only after someone has suggested to me before was Buddy V Ritorante (cake boss) and i would recommend that place to anyone.. food and portions were quite good..
