Family-friendly five-star sleep on the Peruvian central coast with four restaurants and a happening pool scene
Though Hotel Paracas dates back to 1944, it was completely rebuilt (save an original boating dock) in 2007, giving the hotel a fresh and modern feel. Interiors are designed with a palate of white and sea blues to reflect the hotel’s beachfront location, and all 120 guestrooms come with inner sitting areas as well as furnished balconies for prime relaxation amid pool or ocean views. Take advantage at their spa and 24-hour fitness center, and if you’ve brought the tots, there’s plenty of kid-friendly distractions (think: arts and crafts, treasure hunts, movie time) via the onsite Explorer Club.
In the Area
While the resort is designed so you don't have to leave the grounds, it's worth renting a car to explore some of the historical and natural diversions nearby. It's just a 30-minute drive to the Nazca Lines, a collection of mysterious geoglyphs scratched into the desert by Pre-Incan inhabitants. Further afield, take in a day of wine tastings at the Pisco vineyards, the area where the majority of country's wine is produced. If you're looking to stay local, make the mile-long trip to the Paracas National Reserve, home to over 215 species of migratory birds and ancient archeological sites.
