Trump International Hotel and Tower Panama
What We Love
- The oceanfront location overlooking Panama Bay
- The 13th-floor pool deck, with six pools (including two infinity pools), a bar and bistro and ocean views
- Romantic atmosphere in the low-lit seafood restaurant, Tejas Restaurant & Bar, one of three restaurants on-site
- In-room dining is available 24 hours a day
- Charming staff with excellent English
- Trump Attachés (more personal assistants than concierges) will go overboard to help with requests from city tours to golf lessons
- Families are welcome; there’s a dedicated kids club
What To Know
- Right for travelers looking for a comfortable stay and familiar amenities; venture beyond the hotel for an authentic taste of Panama City
- Still to open is a casino, a nearby beach resort and a 10,000-square-foot spa
- Punta Pacifica is growing; the hotel is flanked by two huge towers still under construction
- Ask for directions to the pool deck, gym and business center — a lack a signage means it's easy to get lost
- Rainy season is from May to November
- It is a 30-minute drive from the international airport, and transfers cost $85 per car, each way; taxis are $35, each way
- Don't expect a full tan at the pool — the area is mostly in the shade
- Light sleepers take note: You can hear noise from other rooms
- Free WiFi
- Parking On Site

How to Get There
This is the highest building in Panama with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean Cost line.
Very professionally managed hotel with amazing rooms with good views. The restaurant are top class with impressive service. The check in was very efficient and the staff went out of their way to find a room to one’s preferences.
The conseirage was very helpful in arranging our tours and partial Panama Canal Crossing tour.
The 13th floor Pool facilities are amazingly relaxing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return in future
This is an older hotel, location is excellent rooms need a reconditioned. A.C. didn't work room temperature was above 73F. I move room still didn't fixed. carpet needs to be stretch. Service was superb everyone was very attentive make me fell home away from home. The lounge people were excellent.
Make sure to bring your own towels for the beach. The hotel will not let you borrow the pool towels and will not let you borrow the room towels either. Interesting for a hotel on the water! Staff tried to be helpful (except for the towels). The food was really good. The location was also good, but not close to any attractions.
Disappointed!! As a JW Marriot lover I’m always excited to visit a new property. Currently a Titanium member with 6 years of Platinum Elite or higher member status and 416 lifetime nights, I stay at Marriott properties quite often. I like to save all of the hard earned (and expensive) points and then take a nice vacation every few years using them.
I booked 2 rooms for 5 nights using points at this property, well in advance. At check-in, no complimentary room upgrade was given on either room (Titanium benefit). The next morning I chatted with the hotel property and requested if upgrades were available for both rooms. A few hours later I had a note under my door saying the rooms were ready, so I went down and talked to the front desk. Front desk said they could give me an upgrade on one room that day and then to check in the following day and see if an upgrade was available for the second room. I told them just to cancel the “complimentary upgrades”.
Why offer a “benefit” if you’re not going to honor it? With booking the rooms in advance, I feel the “complimentary upgrades” should have been set up prior to arriving at the property.
All other JW Marriott properties I’ve stayed at had the upgraded rooms already slated for me upon arrival. Who wants to unpack and then repack to change rooms multiple times? It’s frustrating having to fight for a benefit such as “complimentary room upgrade”. I can’t recommend this property.
This JW Marriott is an enormous hotel that is sits atop 12 floors of business offices and flanks a residential tower. There are a lot of comings and goings, but you have to go to the 13th floor to get to the hotel lobby, where a security guard sits. You must also use your keycard in the elevators. As a Marriott Rewards member, we were upgraded to another room. Our room was beyond my expectations. One of the most spacious rooms I have ever stayed in. The bed was very comfortable, and it had all of the amenities you could wish for, in addition to a balcony with two chairs (on the 36th floor). We found the pool to not be a great location for getting actual sun, but a nice place to relax, although very windy! The onsite restaurants were great, by the way. If I ever find myself in Panama City again, I would most definitely stay here.
