How to Get There
We stayed at the hotel from 8 March for 8 nights and were very impressed by the attitude of all the staff especially the concierge and the reception staff. The outside staff around the swimming pools were just as attentive and even though at certain times the tide carried the sea quite far out we were able like the other people to be able to walk down the sand to the shoreline and even venture out to the rocks and pools which were available, this did distract us in any way from swimming either in the pools or the sea.
The rrom that we were given was on the 3rd floor with a view of the sea was lovely and we were able to see and watch all the ships waiting for access to the canal.
On the early morning pickups for our trips, thanks to the catering staff for making up a breakfast pack which was very much appreciated and also for the cleaners who made up our room.
We would recommend the Westin Hotel without reservation.
The hotel location was fantastic. It was right on the beach and we could see the ships lined up waiting to go through the canal. Our Executive King Ocean front room was spacious and very comfortable and the balcony offered spectacular views. The housekeeping services kept our room pristine. The staff at the front desk, concierge and lobby were very friendly and helpful. Food and atmosphere at the Tierra y Fuego was excellent. The other restaurants and food service were good but not at the same standard. Sometimes the fish dishes were overcooked. The restaurants were not flexible in changing reservation times, even though they were far from full. Nilka was our pool service ambassador for 3 days. She was fantastic and a light year above the other servers we had, even in the restaurants. She deserves special recognition.
This is a large resort with nice pools, and lots of restaurant choices, as well as activities for all.
We had a few small issues. Our room was obviously cleaned, however there was hair spread around the slightly wet floor. And some dust in the bathroom. I like to walk around barefoot, so I had to clean up the floor myself or keep shoes on. I thought there should have been slippers in the room, and the only thing was one bathrobe that was quite pilly. The shower door didn't quite keep all the water in either. Overall the room and view was very nice, but the cleanliness issue really bothers me.
Nice balcony, and beds.
More than 1 issue looking over restaurant bills. While it might be easier to get the all inclusive package, we didn't drink, and it wasn't worth it. Also, there wasn't any sort of option like a café, to grab a coffee, and something small for breakfast like a pastry. Because we weren't on an all-inclusive plan, going to eat and paying for the meals took FOREVER. We didn't want to risk eating at a restaurant before our flight on the last day, so I ended up having a candy bar from the gift shop for breakfast.
Some music that they were loudly playing by the pools wasn't "clean" versions, which made it a bit uncomfortable!
I'm not saying we had a horrible stay, because overall it was very nice!
Beautiful Hotel !!!!
We went for a wedding and next day we had a great time with friends over there. Good service and enjoyed Brunch and pool time!!! Beautiful location! Comfortable rooms, and no far from the city.
The entire family enjoyed the hotel - pools, spa, food, service. Everything was top notch; we felt like Royalty during our stay for 4 days.
The staff is very responsive and quick to act; the concierge made special vegetarian food for our family; basically the place exceeded our expectations
