How to Get There
Stayed two nights here to enjoy Panamá city with a group of family and friends. The location is great if you want to walk into the city to shop and eat. The hotel is also across the street from a mall that has some outdoor restaurants. We found many other restaurants and cafes in walking distance, a pharmacy, and liquor store. We were able to Uber to other locations and the hotel is also able to accommodate transportation for you which is nice. Some of the staff speak English, some didn’t speak as much. But they are very patient and willing to use Google translate to assist in the conversation which we really appreciated as not everyone in our group spoke Spanish. The bellboys were great in providing customer service and taking our bags to our rooms. The rooms were clean and updated with all the necessities. The only thing missing from my room was an ironing board...but it wasn’t a huge deal and I’m sure if I asked they would have brought me one. The rooftop views are breathtaking and the rooftop bar was a hit. All of the bartenders and staff were so nice and helpful. I wish I knew all their names to give them shout outs. Alex at the pool bar was fantastic and we even named a drink after him. Our reservation through our travel agency included the breakfast buffet which has everything you could ever need. We didn’t eat at any other hotel restaurants during our stay. I would definitely come back to this hotel if I visit the city again - mainly because of the great location and service.
Stay for first time, visited 3 restaurants, staff demanded gratuities in cash and not added to the bill. hard to believe this tip of scam from the Hard Rock staff in ALL Restaurants! Would expect this in a cheap motel.
1) Poor guest services:
I've never had a hotel tell me they cannot bring up additional towels. That was a real shock for any any hotel location, but in a tropical climate requiring several showers a day, it was just incredible.
2) Poor housekeeping:
The bathroom and balcony still had trash from the last guest. At least a call to the front desk solved that issue after the first night.
3) Poor systems
There are three (3) times at which a massage can be added to your bill. When you make the spa reservation, when you show up at the spa and when you leave the spa after your service. This hotel managed to find a 4th option - the next day. I checked out the next morning and advised the front desk to look for breakfast that day as that was our most recent room charge. They included that charge and I paid in full. I then advised them my girlfriend was sleeping in and would leave by Noon to meet me at the airport. When she approached the main front doors, the guard stopped her and referred her to the front desk. They would not let her depart the hotel until she paid the spa services in cash (yes, charges from the PRECEDING DAY!). Any normal hotel would have included that charge long before that time. Any normal hotel would have also simply charged that to my credit card on file. When the front desk opted to create such a scene in the lobby, it just ensured that I will explore EVERY other option before I stay in another HR hotel.
These folks have no idea how to run a hotel and every idea on how to ruin your vacation time within their walls. Fair warning.
