How to Get There
Hello fellow travelers, this hotel is superb. My group from Minnesota stayed at Global Hotel on feb 2nd. We were greeted with champagne and warm smiles. The staff was friendly, helpful with a fantastic sense of humor. We ate at the hotel restaurant, the food was delicious, and so was their breakfast. Rooms are very nice and spacious. I totally recommend this hotel.
We stayed under the Grace Hotel ownership in 2017 and had a most incredible stay, so when you have high expectations from a previous stay it becomes more judgmental.
Let me first recognize Louis at the Front Desk, he is a true hospitality professional looking to satisfy and please guests. He helped us out on a couple of occasions.
If you stay opt for a couple of more bucks and get a corner king bed the view and extra size bathroom is worth it. And besides how often can you take a bath and overlook the city, its a deep long tub. Couple of engineering things a miss in #1402 shower drain and shower shutoff but minor fixes. The location is easy access to a number of restaurants.
Couple of dollars more but worth it, hope Global keeps what the Grace started.
the hotel is nice .good breakfast .but too far from the old panama .one must take a taxi and if one has not been to a place before ,the drivers are lost .no good restaurant within walking distance .the pool is small
AS a frequent traveler to Panama City, since I am retired in Panama lol, I try to give new hotels a shot to see what is out there to experience. With all the really good hotels in Panama, I most likely would not stay here again. Nothing wrong, I am sure many people would come back, just not my cup of tea, well make that a beer. Next!
I booked to stay for 2 weeks over December 2019. The reception staff (notably Luis) was amazing. I got a bottle of birthday wine which was a lovely touch. The lobby is modern and nice, but they need to lose the very sad looking "gift shop". The breakfast room is being renovated, so a view to a courtyard/building site is not pleasant. The breakfast itself is underwhelming and so was the staff. The 1st room was lovely (13th floor corner), despite dirt marks on the carpets in the room and also the passage. Large, modern, lovely views, huge bathroom and really high quality beds & linen. There are no 84sqm rooms nor Salvatore Ferragamo products as promised on their website (it turns out the website is unchanged since the change-over from The Grace hotel). The pool area is actually lovely despite the filthy pool cushions. We asked to be moved to a higher floor due to excessive noise from their function room. Unfortunately the noise also travelled up to their highest floor (17th) also, so we had to depart the hotel after a few days. Gary was amazing in helping us move to one of their other properties (Waldorf Astoria Suites) at a good rate - a really clever move rather than losing clients. If it was not for this I would have left feeling really angry at my experience. The location is perfect for walking almost anywhere in town. I would love to give this hotel a higher rating, but it did not satisfy the high expectations created on their (outdated) website and from other tripadvisor ratings. You will not find attention to detail here if that is what you're looking for. It needs refinement. Stay here if you do not mind the noise from the function room and if you get a good rate.
