A swank boutique hotel that's the equivalent of a Lilly Pulitzer dress — all sunny Palm Beach elegance and fun
Villa away from home. A boutique hotel built before the concept was even invented, the Brazilian Court was designed by Sicilian architect Rosario Candela to feel more like apartments than a hotel. His intimate, elegant vision is preserved inside and out, from the lemon-yellow walls of the Mediterranean Revival building to the chaise longue–studded courtyards to the spacious, mahogany-filled rooms.
Bed and Bath
Canopy beds and marble Jacuzzi tubs make you feel as if you're living la dolce vita even though you never had to pull out your passport. The 80 rooms and suites are surprisingly spacious (Studios average 400 square feet), and the bathrooms seem positively vast, with separate tubs and showers, each stocked with Gilchrist and Soames products.
The hotel is such an institution in town, it can seem as though all of Palm Beach is sharing stock tips over oeufs forestière at posh Café Boulud, or swapping the names of their plastic surgeons as they get their hair blown out at the Frédéric Fekkai Salon and Spa. But the secret garden–like pool is an idyllic lounging area for guests only. And there's a fitness center in the Pavillion, an annex of the hotel located just across the street.
In the Area
The Brazilian Court is tucked away in a residential neighborhood — but this being Palm Beach, the “residences” are Italianate mansions, and the main street, Worth Avenue, is lined with every high-end shop you can think of, from Chanel to Tiffany’s. Still, you don’t have to be a high roller to have fun — the sandy public beach is two blocks away, and if your lifestyle is more toddlers than tiaras, the Palm Beach Zoo, the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, and Lion Country Safari are a short drive away. There’s something to amuse everyone, from nature lovers (Pan’s Garden) to culture vultures (the Society of the Four Arts).
