The Lowdown

History lives on in North Carolina’s Outer Banks, where seemingly every turn leads to a portal to the past. Some 3,000 ships were wrecked here, the Roanoke settlers vanished from here, and the Wright Brothers flew the world’s first airplane here, and all of these events have become part of the region’s cultural fabric. You can snorkel or scuba dive through the shipwrecks – known collectively as the Graveyard of the Atlantic – or trace the last days of the Lost Colony at a National Historic Site. Oasis Suites Hotel is just a short drive from all of these unusual sights.
The boutique hotel’s town of Nags Head is indeed a particularly central Outer Banks destination, and this all-suite TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner is right in the middle of Nags Head, with views over the Roanoke Sound. With its fishing docks, gas grills, picnic tables, fitness room and seasonal pool and hot tub, it’s a convenient and comfortable base for your expeditions, not to mention your amble over the nearby beach. Yes – since the Banks are a collection of islands, the Atlantic is less than a half-mile from the hotel’s door (including from its waterfront gazebo), and there’s plenty of coast for you to coast yourself, since it’s all also visible when you drive down central Highway 12. Your journey through history looks even better with an ocean view.

Each of 16 individually designed suites comes with a balcony and views of the water and sunset. You can also relax in leather furnishings or, if you’re dining in, whip up a meal in the modern kitchen. The Stock Your Pantry service allows you to arrange for the hotel to pick up your groceries and beverages, before you even arrive. Family suites accommodate up to four guests.

North Carolina’s Outer Banks are a popular vacation destination, offering restaurants, historic sites and lots of sandy coast. The Wright Brothers flew the first-ever airplane here, so visit the memorial to them, or learn about the area’s history by snorkeling or scuba diving the Graveyard of the Atlantic, where you’ll find some 3,000 shipwrecks. Also worth a visit is Fort Raleigh, a historic site commemorating the lost colony of Roanoke Island.

Family Getaway

The property is in the perfect spot of the water. The cleaning staff and the manager very courteous. The front desk clerk ( Molly) very rude and unprofessional. Spoke to me with very negative body language. After not getting a positive response by Molly, I asked if she (Molly)could reach out the manager and the issue was resolved ASAP. This property was not really what we expected from the pics on the website but we made the best out of it.

We booked a weekend stay to visit the 4 lighthouses in OBX, Kitty Hawk, and the beach. The Oasis Suites was an excellent treat for our adventures. The resort was in excellent shape, the housekeeping staff, and hotel managment ensured that the room and all accommodations met our every need. They conveyed that they wanted to give us and excellent stay and hospitality. We highly recommend this resort and will return.

The Oasis is a lovely hotel and a perfect spot for small families or couples. Nicely appointed, always great service and always a special touch from the staff. This is our 4th stay at the Oasis and the first time staying in the busy summer season. Everything went very smoothly and the Manager is always fun to chat with. Our last nite she sent chocolate strawberries to our suite - yum - thank you. We’ll return - hopefully soon‼️

Alone Time

Stayed for 3 days and nights at the Oasis Suits. Had end unit facing the water. One king bed, nice living and dining/kitchen area. The bathroom was very nicely appointed. Very quiet and private. Folks at the reception desk were pleasant and helpful. Great location for all the restaurants and places I like to go in Nags Head and Manteo.

nicest place in nags head

stayed here 1 night before we could get i our beach house. I travel a lot and am accustomed to staying in higher end hotels so finding that in nags head was challenging. Until I saw the Oasis. even though it’s on the causeway before the bridge to roanoke island don’t let that fool you. This place is absolutely lovely. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. our balcony with the view of the sound was spectacular. It’s fairly quiet even with the road in front. Super soft bed. Attention to details. Very well maintained and nice staff. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend. If you want to treat yourself around nags head this is it.
