Overview

Eco-friendly boutique hotel designed in glass, local stone and cedar, steps from Queenstown's buzzing center

The Lowdown

This design-centric property was created by local architect Preston Stevens of 2 Architecture Studio with angular lines inspired by the surrounding mountains. The 19 rooms (15 with views to the Skyline Gondola, three facing the Remarkables mountains, and one two-level Tower Suite with a fireplace) have bleached ash timber floors, a pale color palette and dark timber, with stylish touches including patterned cushions and rugs. Bathrooms have a glass wall for the uninhibited and modesty curtains for those who are not. All rooms have kitchenettes and gourmet grocery packs, so no shopping is required.

In the Area

Near the banks of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown Gardens offers plenty of local flora and fauna and tranquil nature trails to lose yourself in. If you prefer strolling around the stores, head into town to discover New Zealand labels such as Verge at DT Carter boutique. Joe’s Garage on Searle Lane is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch where comfort food such as spicy bratwurst sausage, bacon and a free range egg in a warm “Joe’s roll” hits the spot.

Very handy to town, room was welcoming, modern and spacious. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice and was available until 10.30am which was great for a leisurely start.

This warm and welcoming hotel is very special. We stayed 3 nights and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Location is great – a very easy walk onto main streets of Queenstown. Hotel was spotless, staff couldn’t have been more accommodating- Truly nice people that you felt like you knew by the end of your stay. They aimed to take care of everything for the guests. The evening reception brought out all the guests to relax and chat and share daily experiences. NZ wine was plentiful and hotel had great canapés during daily evening reception. Breakfast choices were plentiful and outstanding. Rooms are really nice. This hotel was a highlight of our trip. Thank you to all the staff

Absolutely loved it!

From the moment I walked in, I was treated wonderfully, with excellent service and staff. The "free" happy hour every evening was a great way to visit with other guest and get to know the staff. They always went out of their way to help me out any way needed. The breakfast (suggest adding that to your package) was excellent every morning and started my days out perfectly. The rooms, well, they are great! I loved the openness, the excellent use of space, the kitchenette, the bathrooms, the decor... every detail. The location is perfect for walking anywhere you would want to get to in Queenstown. I will definitely be back! Thank you QPB for being here for us travelers.

I had the pleasure of staying at Queenstown Park Hotel while working in November and absolutely loved it! Impeccable service, a gorgeous designer room with all the trimmings, delicious chocolates and luxurious bedding. Thank you for treating me to this! I will be back!

Stunning rooms

Stayed in the Remarkables Junior Suite. Everything was huge. The rooms with all the latest amenities, the balcony overlooking the park, the bath and the shower. Felt like I was staying in a penthouse apartment rather than a hotel. Great customer service and a few minutes walk to central Queenstown.
