This design-centric property was created by local architect Preston Stevens of 2 Architecture Studio with angular lines inspired by the surrounding mountains. The 19 rooms (15 with views to the Skyline Gondola, three facing the Remarkables mountains, and one two-level Tower Suite with a fireplace) have bleached ash timber floors, a pale color palette and dark timber, with stylish touches including patterned cushions and rugs. Bathrooms have a glass wall for the uninhibited and modesty curtains for those who are not. All rooms have kitchenettes and gourmet grocery packs, so no shopping is required.
In the Area
Near the banks of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown Gardens offers plenty of local flora and fauna and tranquil nature trails to lose yourself in. If you prefer strolling around the stores, head into town to discover New Zealand labels such as Verge at DT Carter boutique. Joe’s Garage on Searle Lane is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch where comfort food such as spicy bratwurst sausage, bacon and a free range egg in a warm “Joe’s roll” hits the spot.
How to Get There
The hotel could not have been better. It's small, personal, and located just close enough to the restaurants and waterfront that you could easily walk without being in the middle of the late night activity. The hotel is right on the edge of a downtown park with beautiful mountain views. With only 20 rooms, the staff was able to provide personal and friendly service from everything like suggesting and reserving activities, restaurants etc to handling minor room requests. The included cook to order breakfast and the evening gathering where very good local wines were served were extra nice touches as well. We will highly recommend the QPBH to all of our friends who are headed to the lovely Queenstown
We stayed here for just one night, but we had a lovely stay. They accommodated our request for an early breakfast, put us in a great suite (room 21) that was large, quiet and beautifully designed. What I liked most was the fact that this was a spot that is in the heart of Queenstown and therefore walkable to everywhere we wanted to go, but quiet and out of the craziness of the town.
The Hotel was class above the rest. We absolutely loved the service from the Hotel staff and to enjoy the company of other guests from all over the world over drinks and Oeuvres was extra special. The staff always went "the extra mile" for us as well. The room was very different to any other room very unique architecture and design. The beds were very comfortable and also the pillows. We had an amazing view of the Gondolas which was the finishing touch. I can highly recommend this hotel to everyone as we have been all over the world this Hotel beats everything in every way
Experience was exceptional. From Marika at Reception when we arrived like drowned rats from an unexpected storm. Our tower suite was perfect for 2 couples. What can we say about Lenny? Nothing was too much trouble! Complimentary cocktails & hors d’ouevres were a treat, & a chance to mingle with other guests. Breakfast? Perfect! Their chefs are top notch! Location is an easy walk to town. We travel a lot & this hotel is right up there!
This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at during our 2 week vacation to New Zealand. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. It is in a nice location, walking distance to everything. The rooms themselves were also very clean and modern.
