This design-centric property was created by local architect Preston Stevens of 2 Architecture Studio with angular lines inspired by the surrounding mountains. The 19 rooms (15 with views to the Skyline Gondola, three facing the Remarkables mountains, and one two-level Tower Suite with a fireplace) have bleached ash timber floors, a pale color palette and dark timber, with stylish touches including patterned cushions and rugs. Bathrooms have a glass wall for the uninhibited and modesty curtains for those who are not. All rooms have kitchenettes and gourmet grocery packs, so no shopping is required.
In the Area
Near the banks of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown Gardens offers plenty of local flora and fauna and tranquil nature trails to lose yourself in. If you prefer strolling around the stores, head into town to discover New Zealand labels such as Verge at DT Carter boutique. Joe’s Garage on Searle Lane is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch where comfort food such as spicy bratwurst sausage, bacon and a free range egg in a warm “Joe’s roll” hits the spot.
How to Get There
My wife and I spent four nights and loved this hotel. The location is very convenient. The staff is very helpful. The chef went out of his way to accommodate my wife’s diet. The facility was modern and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!
The hotel is modern with well-appointed rooms. The property is just outside the bustling centre of town, but is still very close - an easy five minute walk.
The included breakfast is cooked to order and also includes a continental breakfast buffet. The breakfasts were delicious, fresh and generous. The hotel’s daily canapé hour was a great bonus and a chance to sample amazing New Zealand wines before heading out for the evening.
The most notable part of our stay were the outstanding staff at the hotel. From the check in experience to the canapé hour and to breakfast they were all incredibly friendly, helpful and considerate. A huge shout out to Lenny, who saved the day and helped get tools so we could get into a broken case.
We stayed three nights and it was fantastic. The room was spotless and had everything you need. The staff were so helpful with bookings etc and the breakfasts were the best ever!
They have this right, it’s all about the service provided by the wonderful staff.
