Stayed for work and would go back again. Welcoming friendly staff, well decorated with modern fixtures, great food, nice set up for working in the lobby, gym was nice as well. Really pleased with my stay!

Overnight escape to Portland!

Overall I was very pleased with this hotel, and I've stayed in many places.

What was great!:
Staff, all smiles and helpful. Tje modern decor and the old renovated industrial building. Didn't hear my neighbors, solid room. The decor. The location. That it had a restaurant and bar on sight. Very pleased over all!

What could be improved!
The sorry excuse of an ice maker. The rug under the bed, shed and has not worn well. The office desk chair l, highly uncomfortable and ugly. The condensation build up on the windows, tells me there is poor very ventilation. The limited amount of towels in the room. Should be at least 4 bath towels for a room for 2. The large art piece (mustard yellow and black) was very ugly. I was surprised to know this place opened in 2017 as the decor in the lobby seemed road hard and put away wet...the choices of fabric just must. ot ware well. Lots of bumps and dings.

I would stay here again, if the price was right as it was for this trip.

Beautiful hotel with some odd quirks

This is a newer property in the Marriott portfolio, in a six story building (that's important later). There is a smart park nearby that allows you to avoid the exorbitant +$40 a night for parking. Everything feels very new. The interior is nicely designed, and walking the corridors of the hotel, you produce/hear very little ambient noise. Our stay's frustrations come from the following:
We were in one of the corner king suites--there's a small, narrow cloth covered couch as you enter. It is not a pullout or sofa bed, so if you are traveling with a child, it's not a sleeping option. Of note, when we were checking to see if it was a sofabed, we found trash under the cushions. We called down to get a rollaway--not available. As everyone knows, sharing a bed with a four year old is super comfortable and relaxing.

The bathroom came with two towels. TWO. Evidently this property expects only 1-2 people in a suite. The room description copy calls out heated tile floors--that was not the case in our room. The floors were so cold, it was painfully noticeable. There were greasy, dirty fingerprints on the back of the door, which clearly had not been cleaned.

The mattress on the kind bed was hard and uncomfortable. There is a nightstand for the person on the right side of the bed only--sorry person on the left, you have to use the weirdly placed luggage rack, where they also randomly leave the ice holder.

The TVs were all on when we entered the room, a bizarre and irritating waste of energy. The room was cold, so we upped the temp--evidently the thermostats are pre-programmed to turn themselves down after a certain time, because we woke up freezing.

The windows are all single-paned. That means every single sound from the road echos up into your room, including the booming base from the strip club down the block, and every single idiot that needs to rev their engine over the course of the night.

Will return

I will always stay at the Hi-Lo whenever I return to Portland. The hotel location is awesome. Room is spacious. Bonus: food trucks next to the hotel! What not to love about it!!! We park overnight at a Parking structure nearby.

Great stay!

Stayed here 4 nights. Room was great, bed was perfect. Location was great for what I needed. We either walked or Ubered everywhere. While there isn't any "lounge", I was able to set up my laptop in the lobby and get some work done while on premise. The best part of the property was the people who worked there. Everyone was very professional and accommodating, big thumbs up to to staff of the hotel.
