How to Get There
I stayed with my friend at this hotel last month for a concert and had a fantastic stay! The staff was extremely friendly and our room was clean and spacious. We didn't get the high floor we requested, but Taylor and Brooke were able to get us into one of the corner rooms which had a great view! I wasn't able to catch all of their names, but valet was also very friendly and efficient! If we ever find ourselves in downtown Portland again, we will definitely be returning to this hotel!
We stay here three or four times a year coming to visit our son in Portland. Nice clean comfortable rooms. Great staff – especially Tyler at the front desk and Monica in the concierge lounge. Fun little bar and sitting room. nice place to hang out. You are in the heart of the action in the city. Easy to get everywhere. Close to public transportation. Lots of great restaurants around. The hotel restaurant has a nice solid breakfast buffet.Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Great location - in the middle of everything. Friendly staff, nice concierge lounge. Mobile check in available. Upgrades automatic with status. Festive setup for the holidays. Hot chocolate setup! I shall return!
The Marriott City Center in Portland has been my "home away from home" in Portland for the last six years. I travel here regularly and while I've tried other hotels, find this Marriott delivers everything I'm looking for whether I'm here on business or for pleasure. There are a few reasons I return again and again. The first reason is the friendly and warm welcome I always get, often from familiar faces, at the front desk-- Taylor, Tamara and Tyler are just a few of those welcoming folks. The rooms are good sized, clean and comfortable with all the amenities I need or want. The concierge lounge is a big plus-- nice weekday breakfast, complimentary soft drinks, coffee and tea all day, happy hour and dessert in the evenings. It's also a quiet place to set up my laptop and get some work done without interruption-- and has great views over the city. The hotel also has a very comfortable lounge area near the bar and restaurant on the second floor. The location is extremely convenient for anywhere I want to go in the downtown area and it's easy to get to public transport or the freeways from here, too. Staff is consistently attentive and helpful from the valet/bell staff to Ashley in the Concierge Lounge. I'm halfway through a four-day stay and look forward to my next stay at the Marriott City Center in a few months.
We came here to use the hotel as a 'basecamp' for an upscale masquerade party in downtown Portland. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely apportioned - with a minor concern that our corner suites were a little harder to keep heated due to the large glass windows around the suites - a fair trade-off for the great view though. The executive lounge was a bit sparse on the weekend (you'd expect that warm food would be offered in these lounges since a lot of status guests travel on the weekend too) - the front desk staff gave us a nice little perk surprise in our room for a birthday party, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and we did get a free voucher for continental breakfast to make up for the lack of hot food in the exec lounge. The hotel is nicely located close to food, a pharmacy, and the only real concern is that you have to walk around the block to enter the parking garage - there is also a shortage of temporary parking in front of the hotel for the important check-in time, so plan accordingly if you are traveling alone.
