Charming room | atmoshpere and very attentive staff (thanks Marjorie!)
Reviewed 3 days ago

Marjorie Walsh assisted me in booking a stay for a client and important guest of mine visiting Portland for the first time, and made several outstanding recommendations that helped to capture the local flare and make the trip truly memorable! The room was large, clean and comfortable, and the rest of the hotel was charming and perfectly located in the heart of the city. I will absolutely be booking here for any future trips to Portland and extend my highest recommendations and gratitude to the staff.

Amazing Stay!

I was there for a series of meetings, so there was work involved, but this is a place I would return to for play as well. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere amazing, and it was such a nice location that a Saturday afternoon walk was an adventure. It's pricey... don't get me wrong... but a great place to just relax and be.

Marketing haven for Atelier Bloem products. Every item in room has a price tag.

This is more like a sales and marketing haven for Atelier Bloem products. Rooms are nice and nothing to fret there. Room rate is $160 but with taxes and valet it is $257.

For the price I paid, the last thing I expect is a shared toiletry. Check out the photos. You need to pump these 5times to get something in your hand. Crazy! Even Holiday Inn provides shower cap and other basic amenities but this one does not. Instead they charge you $23+taxes (guest amenities). Wonder what these amenities are. To add to all this, every single item in the room has a price tag. You will wonder if this is a shop or a room you paid for. These guys could have created the cupboard or whatever they call it in Candlewood Suites and moved all these products for sale there. Or maybe put an exclusive shelf right next to the reception to sell these products.

Worst of all, there is no breakfast included at this price. Book the Marriott opposite to this hotel and the room rate is $165 but includes breakfast and total check comes to $210 including valet.

Oh by the way, I'm a Spire membership holder and the max they could accommodate was a 1hr late check out. Pathetic! Post getting the 1hr late checkout permission, I had the housekeeping folks bang on the door at 12. All I wanted was a quick nap after the 15k Shamrock run so I could drive back to Seattle safely. Worst experience.

Also, for whatever reason, neither my wife nor I found the pillows comfortable. I ended up with a neck pain and slept half the night without the pillow. Will never book Kimpton again.

Nice overnight staycation
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband and I had an overnight getaway at the Hotel Vintage. We had our wedding reception there 12 years ago, so it was nice to be back, although the hotel has gone through a major renovation and the restaurant has changed. We checked into our King Suite, which was nice - very modern. Different not having windows in wall, but rather as a skylight along one wall with shades to close. Room was probably bigger than we needed with a couch/sitting area. Bathroom has a soaking tub (although somewhat small) and a walk-in shower. We had dinner at Il Solito in the restaurant (used to be Pazzo) - food was really good, but the restaurant was really hot! Service was great until the end when the server couldn't seem to get our bill right. Wound up sorting it out. Hotel gave us a $10 certificate for dinner and another for breakfast, which we also had in the restaurant.

Vacation stay

I stayed back in January with my partner and let me just say Rabecka and Sophie made my stay. I arrived early and the bubbly front desk agent Rebecca asured me there would be a room available and not only that, she upgraded me to a huge room. Thanks Rebecca I’ll be coming back because of you. Sophie checked me out and was very sweet and started my day off right with a big smile. The front desk crew was very helpful and pleasant.
