How to Get There
The hotel is at a great central location, and is a relatively nice hotel. The valet, though, is totally inept. When I arrived, I waited at the valet stand for 10 minutes and had to go in to ask them to take my car. There is not a great non-valet option either. This was par for the course. We called 10 minutes before leaving for the airport, thinking it would be plenty of time. 25 minutes later our car wasn’t here. I may stay here again, but definitely not if I’m going to have a car with me.
Wow, my husband and I have lived in Oregon for many years now and we have never had such a great experience before. We live on the coast and decided to spend the weekend in Portland, of course traffic ended up making quite the adventure on our way. Our quick three hour trip turned into six and we could not wait to get out of the car sooner. Our sour feelings quickly turned sweet once Marjorie helped us settle in. Honestly she turned our day so much brighter, with that smile and helpful tips, we began to have a great vacation. She gave us so many places to eat and things to do to fill our weekend. I would have to say she is truly a great addition to the hotel and we can't wait to come back again! Thank you Marjorie!
We had such a wonderful Anniversary stay at the Hotel Vintage! I was worried it might be a little too young and hip for us, but my husband (who is a senior citizen) just loved the social vibe in the lobby (lots of pretty girls!) during the social wine hour. And the HOTTUB! Goodness, we LOVED our HOTTUB!!!
We booked with Kimpton - DO NOT BOOK THROUGH A THIRD PARTY WEBSITE! You don't receive the same service, as the agents can't change anything that a third party confirms, like an early check in.
The central location was perfect for us. We were able to walk to all of the downtown destinations. We also easily hopped on the MAX to venture out. Portland has a lovely zoo. Bob's Red Mill was such a fun tour for us. We enjoyed an entire afternoon in the Oregon Historical Society Museum. Powell's Books was spectacular!
Ella and Sophie were filled with great suggestions of restaurants for us! Rebecca was so patient with my husband, who is hard of hearing. And the valet guys, Eric and Jacob, were very helpful with my husband - helping him into and out of the car. Such empathy! Unfortunately, we left some medicine at home, and the staff made sure our delivery made it to us quickly. Even our sweet dog was pampered by everyone!
We can't wait for our next stay at the Hotel Vintage! We left feeling 20 years younger!
