How to Get There
Hm, I enjoyed the hotel and would give at least 4 stars but I had to call a few days later and ask for a copy of my folio. I checked out via the TV and didn’t have much time to review. It came very fast after I called, but found I was charged $30 on 2 days for a total of $60 for “parking valet”.
It is somewhat odd since I had no car on this visit. Will I get an explanation and or credit? I emailed this am so we will see.
I was getting in late in the evening so called Hotel Irvine in advance. I told the front desk that my flight was arriving late and to PLEASE not give my room away. I was reassured by the front desk that the room I paid for would be available when I reached the hotel at 11pm. When I arrived, I was informed that the hotel was overbooked and that there was no room for myself and my child. They would put me up in a less-nice hotel down the street. I cannot understand how this is acceptable. On top of that, the manager was so rude and dismissive. She basically said “It’s like airlines getting overbooked. It happens. Get over it.” Horrible, horrible customer service. At the very least, the manager could apologize for the inconvenience, but she acted like I was inconveniencing her by questioning why my room was given away, AFTER I had specifically called earlier in the day asking for my room to not be given away and being reassured that it wouldn’t. Completely unacceptable.
My family had chosen Hotel Irvine for our wedding venue and we could not of been more pleased. Amercio & Chuck on the night staff were extremely helpful with each and every request, the day staff was efficient and kind on probably one of the more stressful weekends (3 other weddings were to happen that week), and every one who helped set up the events did an amazing job.
