How to Get There
Our first impression at check in was that the hotel was kind of hectic - the lobby was very busy and on the small side. That being said, the staff was efficient and professional and moved things along quickly. We stayed in a king suite with ocean views, which was gorgeous - loved the furniture and decor and the bed was super comfortable. We had two sizeable balconies and loved the views of Huntington beach. Parts of the hotel are under construction and it looks like they're building a new pool - I'm sure it will be spectacular when it's done. The existing pool was fun, though a bit crowded. We had lunch at the restaurant, which was solid, and it was convenient to be able to get Starbucks coffee at the gift shop. I was really impressed that they sent a gift up to our room after we checked in since we're Hilton Diamond members - sparkling water and treats for us, and a cute stuffed animal and book for our baby daughter. It was a nice, thoughtful touch and made up for the fact that they didn't really have an expedited line for Hilton Honors members at check in. We will definitely be back, hopefully after construction is complete.
Stayed in a room with 2 queens with partial ocean view in Huntington Tower. You can tell this tower is the older one, but it is still pretty nice. The lobby was beautiful. We walked over to the Dolphin Tower pool area at night. It was very busy but very nice.
The location of this hotel was great for us. We walked to the pier for dinner the first night and the next day we walked to shopping on the main street across from the pier as well as Pacific City which is even closer.
There is only valet parking at this hotel.
This hotel is one of our favorites. Walking access to the beach, pier and downtown Huntington Beach is great! We stayed in the original Huntington Tower and the rooms were very nice but the balcony is too small for two chairs; the newer Dolphin Tower appeared to have full size balconies that can accommodate two chairs and a table. The new pool area is open since the original is under renovation and completely closed off. The Boardwalk cafe had great breakfast service and we particularly enjoyed our server Patty’s great friendly attitude. We tried the rooftop lounge but it was super windy so didn’t stay for a drink. Parking is steep at $38, but street parking can be found nearby if you’re willing to walk.
We took a summer vacation in Southern California and this was one of our destinations, and our most favorite! The hotel is absolutely amazing! We stayed in the new Dolphin Tower and the rooms, decor, just everything was modern and top notch! We ate at the hotel several times during our stay and the service was top notch! We will definitely be returning.
This is a solid resort for families. It’s not perfect but it’s very good. There are 2 towers and currently one of the pools is being remodeled. It looks like this will be the adult pool. The kids pool is great for families. There’s a shallow entrance for little ones and 2 slides for older kids. The hotel has tons of beach equipment to rent and it is literally across the street from the beach. It’s like 75% if Hawaii with 25% less travel burdens.
Some of the cons:
Since the 2nd pool is currently closed, the main pool was pretty packed. There were hardly any chairs. The pool side food is not too expensive but the food is quite mediocre. It would appeal to an 8 year old.
Tip: 1 block north there is an outdoor mall with tons of restaurants and absolutely worth going to for meals.
My wife loved it for the convenience with our little one. She is already planning to come back next year.
