How to Get There
Your resort sounds amazing.. I was in Huntington beach last summer at the beach and noticed your resort. So I been saving my pennies to bring my Granddaughters. We will be there in late July.. Can't wait!!! I'm giving a early review for your customer service. I received from your reservation dept at the resort. Kat and Joseph were outstanding in helping me.There personalized service could not have been any better. It's not fair to rate this resort for the service,I received from the Hilton reservation line. My advise to your guests is to call the your resort for there reservations and speak to Kat or Joseph. Unfortunately the Hilton reservation line could not offer all your specials on my dates even though they were advertised on line. So I believe that Hilton needs to do a little adjusting on there end. Your reviews look wonderful.
We arrived later than expected on our first night. We found a pretty warm room but we had champagne and cake for our birthday/anniversary celebration. We spent the morning around town and then went to the beach. Towels and chairs are included in your resort fee (as are 2 bottles of water)
Afterwards we headed to the pool. It was crowded and over run with kids. We would have preferred the Huntington pool (adults only) but it’s still under construction (late June 2019) It’s supposedly almost finished.
The pool was nice, but crowded. The fire pits are nice but the tons of cabanas seem like wasted space.
The room was ample space for 2. The carpet was a little grungy. The bed was low. None of these are deal breakers for ya but could be for others. We unplugged the fridge on night 1 due to a weird whistle sound. We would have called to notify someone if we were staying longer.
My husband got locked out of the safe and the staff was super helpful and got him in within 15 mins.
I also called for an extra pillow and it arrived timely.
We didn’t try the restaurants. “Starbucks” was a little exaggerated but there’s coffee in the room.
Valet is overpriced but it seems to be on par for the area.
We’d return on a kids/family trip and hopefully try out the concierge for s’mores.
I stayed here with family during a conference at a hotel next door. The staff is very friendly, the food excellent, and the rooms clean and modern. The beach is just across the street, and there are places to eat close by. I would recommend this to anyone.
1) I paid high premium for having "ocean view", which turned out to be what everywhere else would call partial view (1/3 of ocean, the rest was another hotel and residential houses). The view I got is only marginally better than what they would call a partial view. Front desk and the complaints team refused to help saying it was ocean view according to their definition. I feel really cheated when I compare the views I had in other CA hotels. 2) Staff not very helpful as they responded to my complaint two days later (see above). 3) They did not allow me even 30min extension for the check out, which is never a problem in other hotels. 4) water sink seemed blocked 5) Final bill was higher than my booking.com final price due to some additional taxes, city tax or something.
My Girls Scout troop of 10 girls and I stayed at the Hilton last weekend. Here are my thoughts:
1. The facilities are gorgeous. Really, really nice. Beautiful common areas, nice rooms.
2. Great location.
3. While I appreciate that mattresses on pull out beds are notoriously bad, these were really the worst. And we had four suites so I know it wasn't a one-off. Our nine year old girls couldn't get comfortable, so I can't even imagine a grown person trying to sleep on one. Some folks complained and were brought duvets as extra padding. For the price, more investment should be made in the beds themselves.
3. Service was so-so. Everyone was very nice but there really didn't seem to be enough help.
We had dinner at one of the hotel restaurants. Our group of 22 was given a single server. We waited far too long for drinks, food, etc. When we asked for extra help, we were rebuffed, notwithstanding that we were the only people in the restaurant. The next morning, folks waited 45 minutes for breakfast from the same restaurant.
Some in our party waited 45 minutes for their cars on Saturday afternoon when attempting to depart. (Pro tip -- definitely use the text message option, as I only waited 15 minutes after texting.)
We were promised a call when our rooms were ready and didn't get one.
We asked for extra blankets, etc. and didn't get them.
