How to Get There
Nothing really too special about the hotel. The rooms are pretty plain, not bad at all but not outstanding. It is a huge hotel and really the only thing to do around there is a convention at the convention centre (great location wise if you are doing that) or Disneyland.
We checked in on a Thursday and it wa a great, awesome poolside service, awesome check-in, awesome valet.
Fast forward to a Saturday- whoa! The pool was full, trash overflowing, no towels- dirty wet towels everywhere, dishes out everywhere for hours.
Here is where my biggest complaint comes in- if you want any sort of a service poolside - forget it. The wait staff avoids you like the plague, couldn’t order food or drinks to save our life. We even sent our son to snag a waitress when she came out- we waived as he pointed to us and she spent the next hour avoiding us. We alerted the front desk thinking the restaurant manager would come out and take care of everything- nothing. We finally went to the market to get our kids drinks and went to slice the pizza place to get food to bring back for our kids. As we sat down; still for 3 hours not one employee came out to take orders.
Here we are again with no towels as I type.
We are Marriott rewards members and normally Marriott service is on point. The weekend here was an absolute fail on our supposed to be “relaxing days” in between Disney. We thought because it was a full-service hotel we would get actual full service- we have 4 more nights here and I will post an update.
Great staff, very informative, and always courteous. I was there for 4 days for business, and it was a relaxing, professional, and efficient place. Your car is ready quickly, maid service was excellent, and the food was very good. Recommend this place for work or personal use.
Nice Lobby, rooms ok, bathroom in need of updating. Too big for the pool area. I don't like the modern room service concept...no trays only take away containers, so there are cardboard food boxes and half eaten pizza strewn throughout the corridors. Oh, and I saw a cockroach in the corridor by the Starbuck Market area near FedEx. It could have been worse....
I was going to Orange County to attend a wedding. I booked a room at a Holiday Inn Express in Santa Ana back in May. This hotel was supposed open sometime in July and I thought, “cool, I get to stay at a brand new hotel, I’ve never done that before.”
Less than 48 hours before I was due to check-in the Holiday Inn Express called me and told me they were not open and would not be opened that weekend. WHAT?!?! LESS THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE I WAS DUE TO CHECK-IN. They told me they had me at another hotel but then couldn’t find my confirmation number or details.
Panicked, I hit the internet and found a fantastic deal on Priceline for the Anaheim Marriott. I had never used Priceline before and was kind of thinking that I would get a leftover room and was expecting shoddy customer service. I expected everything on my reservation to scream, “SHE GOT A GREAT DEAL ON PRICELINE SHE DOESN’T MATTER.” However, this is NOT how things went at all!
I arrived in Anaheim around noon and was surprised I was allowed to check-in. My room was BEAUTIFUL! The bed was super COMFORTABLE; the TV was huge; and everyone was unbelievably NICE. I was astonished. I people I dealt with at the OTHER hotel were extremely rude even though they were the ones displacing me. But everyone I interacted with at the Anaheim Marriott was extremely friendly and accommodating. I was so pleased that I’m already booked to stay here when I go back to Anaheim in November.
Thank you for taking an extremely stressful situation and turning it into a relaxing weekend. I look forward to staying at your hotel again in November.
