How to Get There
Although the property is a bit dated, the staff are very friendly and helpful. From the housekeeping people to the concierge to the front desk. We needed a late check out and Oliver at the front desk was very helpful for giving us things to do even though we had to leave the room prior to us being able to go to the airport for our trip home. The bell desk was very gracious and didn't take a tip when I explained how important my bags were, he indicated that they would be safe and they were. Would definitely, with no reservation recommend this hotel.
My friend and I just stayed here this past weekend. We drove up for the Flyers/Leafs game and the hotel was a perfect location for walking to the arena, it was about a 5 minute walk. When we arrived we couldn't find the self parking so we did valet even though our first choice was self park. When we reached the front desk there was a problem with our reservation, but we had our printed out confirmation, the hotel staff took it to her manager and everything was settled. She said it was an issue with their computers so I would suggest bringing a copy of your booking confirmation. Hotel room was clean and perfect for everything we needed it for, a place to sleep and shower, so I can't comment too much on any of the other hotel amenities because we were mostly out around town.
Also we declined house keeping because we were only going to be there for a day and a half, because of this we were given a coupon to use at the hotel's restaurant for breakfast. I don't know if that's standard but might be worth looking into if you don't need house keeping during your stay.
Overall a pleasant stay and we would absolutely stay here again next time we're in Toronto!
It was the worst experience of my life.
Me and my friend went to this hotel and we booked a room for one night. Next day my friend had to leave so he left in noon and I asked the management to extend me stay for one more night. I called them from the room to ask about the security deposit, that I have to deposit more money to stay one more night but they said there’s no need.
At night I came to know about that the key of my room isn’t working so I went to the reception and asked about it. They said that you have to deposit $550 as security deposit and my credit card was not working. So I asked them to take the money from my debit card or by cash, but they refused to take the money and they said if you want to deposit the money in cash then you have to deposit $750.
I didn’t have that much cash and It was about 1:30 am.
So I said that I’ll take my luggage Tomorrow and now I’m going to my friends house. But they said it’s against their companies policy and they will call police.
They called their bouncers and even the guy who was working there said I’ll kick your ass off from the hotel.
Like really this language in from of guest. No way dude...
I'm never going the this hotel again and also I’ll never allow my any friend at this hotel.
There are a lot of nice hotels in Toronto but this one exceeds in everything not only because of the balance of price vs. value but also the level of service of the people who work there.
It starts out at the lobby with David greeting me with a smile and remembering my name and always being so nice. He always tries to accommodate everything I need and tries his very best to give me the best room. On this visit, he gave me a slip for free breakfast buffet, asks when my flight leaves so he can give me the ideal checkout time, and always tells me to make sure I let him know if there’s anything else.
At the buffet, you have Catherine. Doesn’t matter how early it is, whether the sun is up or not, her smile will brighten up any dim lit room. She gave me great seats to accommodate my work bag and gives her recommendations. On our last day, she gave me and my co-worker a chocolate strawberry tray and it was an amazing gesture! Made our day!
This hotel is located by the lake so amazing views are inevitable. There is a gym and they have gym wear available in-house so you don’t have to pack your own (for a reasonable fee). The lobby bar is amazing and a great place to host meet and greets, informal meetings, etc.
If you are staying in Toronto, make sure you try the Westin Harbour Hotel and say hi to David and Catherine to elevate your experience!
Thanks so much!
I wanted to love this hotel for the harbor view alone, but I just couldn't get over how dirty, dingy and worn the rooms were. For a hotel at this price point, the rooms should have been in much better condition. I don't think the rooms had been more than surface cleaned in a decade. The chair in our room was absolutely disgusting and looked more like a salvage piece from a garage sale than a chair fit for a high-end hotel.
All that being said, the rest of the hotel was fine, and we enjoyed our stay there. The lobby and restaurant areas appeared recently renovated and were very clean. I thought staff members were friendly and helpful, especially the wait staff in the restaurant/bar.
This hotel could be 5 stars with a full renovation and thorough cleaning.
