How to Get There
It had been a few years since I was here, and this time my memories - and a very good price point - drew me back. So happy I did!
Elegant hotel, wonderful service both at the front desk and in the Victoria restaurant. A very clean and comfortable room. The only downside was that our room had one small window and no overhead lighting so was dark. Even with bedside lamps on it was gloomy. A floor lamp or two would do wonders.
First visit to hotel as a guest, staff were amazing and the rooms are exquisite. Dining at consort bar was amazing, food was top notch. Anything needed is within walking distance of hotel.
Will definitely return in the near future.
My daughter and I meet up in Toronto once a year for some bonding time. We chose this hotel for its history and location (old town Toronto) The booking process was very smooth and we were able to book one night package with tea, another night with breakfast. This hotel is walking distance from Union station (12minutes); close to a subway stop(2 minutes); on street car route and has valet parking, so getting here is super easy. Check in was easy and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a corner room which was beautiful! The entire hotel is very nicely renovated with lots of attention to detail and high end finishes. Unfortunately the old world charm was sacrificed a bit too much for me, other than on the website there is nothing to inform guests about the history of this luxury hotel. We dined in the Consort, had tea and breakfast in Victoria, and had massages in the spa. These will be reviewed separately. The lobby is very cold and there are only 2 places to eat, would be the only thing I have to say that isn’t positive. The staff is Amazingly friendly, in a city that isn’t known for being friendly. Lots of places near here to eat and shop(6minute walk to Eaton Centre).
A beautiful hotel. Nice big room. The bathroom could do with a bit more counter space but no big deal! Located next to nice major shopping area. Cannot comment on the food as i did not eat at the hotel. Impeccable service!!
I had a brief staycation at the King Edward Hotel and everything about it is exceptional. Compared to other hotels (Royal York), you get so much more for the reasonable hotel rates. Centrally located to key sights, it is an elegant hotel with deep history. The interior has been modernized with gorgeous furniture in rich colours like red and purple. Our suite provided ample space with a really comfortable bed. Access to the Royal lounge on the 11th floor was an added bonus - the layout is very private with comfortable seating. The evening offerings were much more extensive than I expected...yummy dips, crudités, sliced prosciutto and turkey, hot hors d’oeuvres and fruit tarts. Free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks too. We were so full that we cancelled our dinner plans! Breakfast in the lounge was equally good with a buffet spread of hot and cold items. If you can, reserve the Sunday brunch buffet in the main restaurant - delicious, and high quality offerings like Beef Wellington. Most importantly, service is consistently good; no matter who we encountered, everyone was friendly and wanting to please. A special thanks to YoungMi, their Loyalty Ambassador and Charlot in the Lounge for taking special care of us!
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Toronto, or just in need of some pampering!
