Check out the rooftop!
Reviewed 7 days ago

I’ll start off by saying that I haven’t really spent too much time in Toronto. That being said my girlfriend was going for work and I tagged along. The staff was good. The rooms and lobby are clean and have some pretty cool flower arrangements (I’m usually not a big fan). Cute little restaurant/ bar at the far end of the lobby that offers a complimentary breakfast.
The real gem of this place was the rooftop hot tubs with the projector!
The only complaint I have is that the city was working on the street out front but that’s nothing that the hotel could do anything about and my room was on the other side of the hotel so I couldn’t hear the construction but it made it tricky to catch a cab.

Toronto Trip

This is an older hotel. The rooms are quite nice. The wifi is spotty at best. No matter how you try and position yourself on the commode, you bang an elbow everytime. A king size bed comes with 5 pillows, all firm. That's fine of you like firm pillows! Desk is much too small to do any serious work. Lacking sufficient electrical outlets for your electronics. Food is great! Front desk and restaurant staff are fantastic. Free buffet breakfast is a plus.

Still a great choice second time around!

I was here over 2yrs ago and was pleased that a couple of years later its, still a great hotel choice.

The staff are all professional, helpful & friendly. I was given a free upgrade & ticket for a free drink (which i forgot to use) for being a returning guest. Its great to see a hotel honor loyal guests.

The breakfast was great. This time the weather was warm so we ate outside. The patio is very nice. There is great use of space. A good mix of sun and shade and where it is,shady they have nice above head heaters to take off the chill. The waitress was so nice.

The pool and hot tub on the roof is good. The workout room is clean and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the steam room (please don't ever get rid of it). It is so relaxing after a busy day running around.
The hotel has so many nice touches like the green apples always in the lobby AND workout room.

The only reason why I gave it 4 stars this time was because some things in the hotel were starting to show age. My A/C in the room (1818) was very loud and for some reason kept running at night even when we turned it off due to noise. The bedroom with the king bed had terrible TV reception. The bathroom tub wouldn't keep water. A punched in area on the ceiling. And at times the projector on the roof didn't work and the sound of the video was very quiet. All little things.....
Thank u again Grand Hotel for another pleasant stay.

Wonderful Place

I can not say enough good about this place. My Husband and I travel about 10 times a year and I can honestly say that this is the best of the best. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The amenities are excellent. The staff, well you just can't find a friendlier, more helpful bunch of people. They really do treat you like family. My Husband and I have some disabilities and all of them are right there saying "how can we help" The restaurant food is excellent and all of the staff are wonderful, but if you are lucky enough to get Cynthia waiting on you, than you will think that you are really a someone. She always has a smile and a warm hug for you. She makes you feel like family. All of them do. This is the place to be as far as we are concerned. There is nothing in Toronto better.

A nice hotel in old Toronto
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed as a couple for two nights. Our room was very comfortable with a nice little kitchen around the corner from the bed and bathroom but still totally adjoining and private.
Nespresso machine was a great inclusion. Also used fridge for our own milk etc.
Breakfast at Citrus was good both mornings. The pool was beautiful but did not have time to use it nor the rooftop hot tubs.
Was attending business functions but took some time out to walk south to the old Lawrence Market.
Good shopping and the Harbour were a few blocks west or south.
Would use this hotel on a return trip.
