How to Get There
We were in Toronto on our way to Niagara on the Lake, stayed at this hotel last Friday. Its redone, but you can still tell it's very old. The reception area is very nice, the rooms are very nice too especially with no carpets (I hate carpets in hotel rooms). The corners of the bedroom were full of cobb webs and spiders. We couldn't tell if it was the humidity or just plain uncleanliness. Anyhow that was the only issue. The area is nice but if you walk a couple of blocks it's very sketchy
My family only stayed for one night, but I'd highly recommend this hotel in the future. There was plenty of underground parking, at a reasonable rate of $22/ night. The pool area very pleasant and big enough to accommodate the guests. The rooms were very comfortable, the beds and bathroom were clean and the staff were very professional. We were able to also use the rooftop hot tubs, which had music videos playing on an outdoor screen and offered excellent views of the city. The buffet breakfast was typical of what you'd get at most hotels, but still very tasty and offered a good variety. The only negative was the neighborhood. A lot of homeless and drug abusers nearby. We were comfortable enough during daylight, but took an Uber after dark.
Stayed 1 night for a short trip to see some of the Toronto sights.
Pros: great service, nice indoor pool, good buffet breakfast, well-equipped rooms (fridge, dishes, seating area, etc)
Cons: a bit dated, rooftop patio / hot tub area not as scenic as it looks in pics, not as close to waterfront (Rogers Centre area) as I had hoped
Overall though - would definitely stay here again without hesitation because of the pros listed above. The service in particular was worth returning for. Smooth check-in, good pre-arrival communication, allowed for later checkout, ...
