How to Get There
Was wowed at check in: our room wasn't ready upon arrival and we were graciously upgraded to a 2 bedroom loft suite! Appreciate the personalized service, thanks to Romina. The door staff were extremely friendly and personable, constantly inquiring about our comfort and needs, really above and beyond. Cool rooftop jacuzzi, but was too cold for us to venture in. We would go back just to enjoy the view of the Toronto skyline from the roof. Breakfast included and was buffet style, lots of fruits, scrambled eggs, sausage, french toast, yogurts, cereals, breads, muffins etc. Had to order bacon as a side, but it was worth it ;) Attentive service. Overall, great stay with positive vibes. Recommend for all.
Had we paid the full price for the room we would have been mad. The pictures online made the “suite” look so much bigger (and cleaner) than it really is. The bathroom especially.
Definitely not my favorite hotel in Toronto but could be good for one night in a pinch, not the two nights we stayed for.
Although, the bathroom just had an over cramped and not very clean feeling about it.
Beds (tried the sofa pull out bed because the main bed wasn’t comfortable) overall were not great. Pulled out the sofa bed and it was filthy underneath. So many crumbs and pieces of what looked like crackers and a bottle cap.
Underground parking ramp was a comical tight squeeze. Had to get the kids out of the vehicle before pulling into the parking space(s) to avoid hitting the cars next to us with our doors.
This was a comfy stay for a short business trip. My room was very high up so the view was spectacular through the large glass windows. Breakfast was included with my stay. The breakfast was filling and they had a good variety for vegetarians. Staff was professional and courteous.
We have spent many stays with the Grand Hotel in Toronto. Family, friends, getaways ,etc and always loved the rooms, the service, the facilities and the breakfast. In fact we choose the Grand for all these reasons. The last time I stayed we were upgraded...I thought I was because of my loyalty to this hotel.
Today we came down for breakfast tolearn that we were not welcome unless we paid! The pollicy has changed and we would have to pay for our breakfast. I was not informed of this upon booking and did not notice that it was missing on my confirmation. Sometimes I book directly with the hotel and sometimes I use Hotels.com. I am not sure why this sudden policy change but I found it to be unethical not to inform regular customers of this change in policy. In many of our visits we have spent lots of money in the bar and restaurant as well as enjoy the facilities. I am very disappointed that this leaves a bad taste in my mouth regarding my trust in this hotel. If I had been informed I would have understood....almost sneaky to do this to loyal customers. I wish I could count on this changing as I hope to bring a few friends again for anther getaway.
We stayed for one night on February 8th. The staff, pool and breakfast were fantastic, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Room was spotless. Bathroom was a little small but okay. Loved the kitchenette. Great location, quick drive to the St. Lawrence Market in the morning. But that underground parking has some tight turns, watch out if you have a big vehicle lucky we have a little Chevy Cruze! Will definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in TO.
