A gift from my bestie for my birthday for a 1 night stay. We had a beautiful room, with a birthday card from the staff, a platter of chocolate strawberries waiting for me. My husband and I enjoyed the swimming, hot tub and dinner at Queens Landing. Fabulous service. Totally impressed with the hotel. A must stay. Garrett was awesome.

Totally professional and amazing service. Cannery restaurant superb food. Hostess wonderful. Kathi and Sarah servers in evening were fantastic. As was Malinda for breakfast. Service in vintages bar also superb. Front desk reception team were so on point and just terrific. The entire team have clearly been trained for amazing customer service. Even at check out asked if we wanted bottles of water for the road. Just all the little touches. Like a rose on the bed at night. Spa was great as was the hot springs and pool. Terrific experience indeed

Sumptuous dinner with excellent service

We have come to the Pillar and Post many times for weekend breakfasts as we're locals. But we've never come for dinner until now. It was a busy evening so we were unable to get our choice of time which was 6 p.m. We came earlier at 5 and in the end that worked out better as it was quieter and the service was great. Our waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and spent a lot of time chatting with us - and her other guests too. We ordered two mains and two desserts. The mains were outstanding. I had braised short ribs which were rich and delicious. The food was generous. Lots of lovely tasty accompanying veggies and sauce. I cannot fault it at all. My husband ate the salmon, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Sadly, I cannot recommend either dessert we ordered. I had the chocolate cherry plate. None of it worked. The red velvet sponge cake was dry and unappetizing, the accompanying dollop of whipped cream tasted like nothing (perhaps add some vanilla bean to it), the chocolate pate also lacked flavour and depth, but the worst thing on the plate were the hard cherries. Not what I was expecting at all. I had hoped for juicy delicious fresh cherries and lots of them. It did not come together at all - for me. My husband ate the banana fritters but the fritters resembled donut balls comprising hardly any bananas. All in all a disappointing end to a meal that started out so amazing.

Outstanding service. Pleasant Stay.

From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, the staff made our stay nothing but hospitable and enjoyable. We requested a "quiet room" and were accommodated, and even offered a discounted room upgrade (which we declined). The room was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed an afternoon meal at the bar and breakfast the following morning in the main dining room. Both excellent! Donny at breakfast was outstanding, and went above and beyond to be sure that my meal was confirmed gluten free, even offering me a fresh fruit alternative. There is an onsite spa, but the price of services seemed terribly inflated so we did not indulge. The bed was a bit firm, though a mattress topper and specialty pillows were available upon request. I would definitely stay here again.
