How to Get There
We did a lot of research on the best hotels overlooking Niagara Falls, but were still so pleased with the room and the beautiful view of the falls. This was a room where I did not mind spending more time in the room because of the beautiful view. We loved it at all times of the day. The evenings gave us the lit falls and on Friday, we enjoyed fireworks as well. I have dozens of pictures of beautiful rainbows over the falls and the falls at all times of the day. All are beautiful!!!
What a fantastic stay! We were luckily able to check in early, got a high floor room over looking the falls—I could not get enough of the view!!, two-person jacuzzi, sofa seats facing the big picture window overlooking the falls, great hospitality including a complimentary bottle of champagne. And the hotel is on what I would call the quieter, less commercialized neon center which was perfect for us. Get the app for easy check in (we still used the check in desk bc 1) it’s a person, and 2) they have good info and ideas), and check out (used and was totally easy). If we ever go back to Niagara, I’d stay there again.
My husband and I made our first trip to Niagara this past weekend. We both like to leave as early as we can when we are going on vacation, especially if we have a long drive. We had about a 6 hour drive which isn't the longest we've done but still long enough for the both of us to want out of the car and to really be on vacation. Since we were only going from Friday to Sunday, we wanted to get started exploring as soon as we could without having to worry about going back to the hotel later in the day to check in. Luckily, when we arrived at 10 AM we were able to check in.
The hotel itself is located in a great spot, which is why I chose it. It has a bus stop within a 1 minute walk and great views. It was an easy area to drive to and from when arriving and leaving Niagara. We spent most of our time out in the city and didn't spend much time in the hotel, outside of the room so I don't have much to say on the hotel amenities. We opted not to include breakfast in our room price, but only because it was a pretty hefty cost to add (way more than I would spend on a regular breakfast).
We reserved the superior king with a jetted tub and falls view room and it did not disappoint! Our room, 1223, had a spectacular view. The price of the room was a little more than I would have liked to spend so the view was the most important aspect that was going to appease my doubts. The view was exactly what we were hoping for. If you're looking for a great view, request this room! We could see all of the falls, Horseshoe, Bridal Veil and the American Falls. Which was really important for seeing the fireworks! The fireworks are off to the left of the hotel, closer to the American Falls but all we had to do was sit back, look to the left and enjoy!
Cleanliness of the room is always my top priority when picking a hotel and the room was very clean. I don't have any complaints about the cleanliness, which is a great thing!
The bed was the most disappointing part of the room. The mattress was too firm, the pillows need an upgrade, and the sheet/comforter was not the correct size for a king sized bed. It would be better to have a mattress that is neutral rather than too firm, so that it can suit everyone. The pillows were definitely old and needed replaced, very lumpy and did not hold their shape. We have a king sized bed at home with a thick mattress and the sheets hang to the bottom of the mattress on each side, the comforter even a bit further. It seemed that our sheet and comforter would have been better suited for a queen sized as they only just reached the sides and didn't stay on the bed. The issues we had with the bed were the reason I didn't rate the hotel 'excellent'.
The bathroom was really nice with the shower and toilet in a separate space. You could open the partition to see from the bathroom to the room, but when you're in the tub, there isn't a view. The shower has two heads and great pressure. The tub, very deep and enough space for two. The water gets very hot.
We did valet the car and it went very smooth. Again, a little costly at $45 a night but was an easy option.
Overall, this is a hotel that I recommend staying at. We had a great weekend!
