How to Get There
Check in/out extremely quick. Very comfortable bed. Quiet room. Everything you would expect for a high price hotel. Indoor walkway to Casino. Restaurants are in same building. Parking is $20.00 just a money grab as far as I’m concerned.
We had the opportunity to stay at the Hilton overnight on December 9th 2018.our experience at checkin was excellent. They were good enough to upgrade our room from standard to studio with a view of the American Falls. Other then a very noisy air vent blowing cold air on us off and on all night I have no complaint of the room, nicely made up. It is the parking I have an issue with. The cost of using their parking garage is bordering on criminal. By the time our bill appeared under our door it had gone from 35$ a night to 43$. Now I might expect those prices in Toronto or Vancouver but certainly not in Niagara Falls nor have I ever paid taxes in addition to the quoted price and there were 2 added, HST as well as I am assuming a tourist tax to the tune of 8$. I would recommend those taxes are included in the price quoted and not in addition to or you make it very clear what the final cost to park there will be at check in.
Hotel is in a good location and you can walk indoors in the skywalk to the Sheraton hotel and the casino and small mall/food court across the street. It's very easy to get an Uber to take you wherever you need to go. The Christmas decor in the lobby is very well done and nice pink and purple colors vs. the usual red/green, great for photo ops.
If you are going to the large outlet mall, be sure to see the concierge desk, they will provide a taxi voucher one way and I was told the return fare would be about $35-40. I opted to go to the closer outlet mall not realizing it was an outdoor mall where you had to go door to door, it was ok just unexpected, sales weren't super great.
There are 4 Starbucks within a block of this place and about 3 iHops. Check-in was ok, the view on the 8th floor was not great I could not see the falls and requested to be moved to where my co-worker was placed so we could be on the same floor as we were attending the same conference and events, on the 16th floor it was a much better view, same style room. It didn't mention online that there was a mini fridge, but there is which is handy as I like to have some healthier snacks with me. The bathroom tub appeared clean, but there were hairs in and around it that should have been taken care of. I also ran out of hot water when trying to shower at night once and a couple mornings around 8-8:20am, try to shower early to avoid this. The hotel was not full at the end of November, so I'm not sure how this could happen, maybe the boiler is on the fritz. I found it odd that a huge hotel like this with 2 towers would have jetted tubs throughout the building...I have a hard enough time cleaning a jetted tub at home. I don't think the cleaning staff could possibly have time to clean them properly, running vinegar or bleach through the jets, etc. Bed was ok, pillows way too soft even when you use 2, need to invest in better quality pillows. The rooms were a good size, but do appear a bit outdated. They were building something next door and there was noise and construction workers running around near my room. It's about a 20 minute walk to the falls and Clifton Hill.
Pool and excercise room were closed due to renos I believe, but we could take the Skywalk to use the same at another hotel. Someone in our group did that and enjoyed it. It would have been nice to enjoy a waterslide or two while there, oh well.
If going during the fall, call to double check if places you are visiting close early, we had some places close early on us before we go the building re or kick us out early due to it being "low season", also one brewery/bar in Clifton Hill ran out of wings!
Great location and we had an amazing view over the falls from our room. The breakfast was border line terrible and the restaurant is in urgent need of refurbishment. Plastic table cloths, dark room with the windows blacked out did not help the ambiance. Would not stay here again.
Our stay was amazing. The staff are friendly. The room was really nice with a great view of the falls. While there the Brasa Brazilian bbq restaurant in the hotel is a must. Highly recommend the hotel. We will be back. We give it 10 out of 10.
