How to Get There
Stayed one night. Hotel was very clean with a very pleasant staff. Restaurant dinner was excellent. Breakfast was good too. Pool was clean and hot tub was awesome. Would definitely stay again. Nicest hotel in Kent.
We stayed for two nights, for the purpose of touring Kent State University (and getting to know the immediate community) with our daughter. This was a PERFECT location for his purpose.
We were across the street from the gateway to the University. We were also across the street from Acorn Alley, a dining and shopping area. Great food choices just down the street.
We paid only $40 more per night over the regular room rate to secure the Executive Suite. It's on the 4th (top) floor and it's a corner room with two windows. Huge, comfy. The only major problem is, well, a major problem. The bedroom area is VERY lacking in electrical outlets to charge mobile devices. The living room area had an adequate amount, but not the bedroom area. I'm accustomed to hotels with a good number of charging opportunities near the bed, not only traditional outlets but charging strips. and even outlets and USB ports built into a lamp base, and so on. None of this here. For the three of us, there were only two outlets, and we had one of those because we chose to unplug the night table lamp (which is the only light source on that side of the room).
We were perfectly comfortable for two days, but had we been here longer I'd have been very unhappy with the lack of drawer and closet space. No drawers, no bureau, and two very small closets (actually wardrobes) each with only two hangers.
And if I'm going to be really nit picky, it was annoying to have a paper towel rack in the kitchen, but no paper towels. Almost every place I stay that has a kitchenette comes with adequate supplies. Our flatware drawer had three knives and two corkscrews but no forks or spoons. Hmm.
I'm also disappointed in any hotel property that doesn't offer a recycling container in the room.
But PLEASE don't let these complaints stop you from booking here. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Friendly enough service. And a great value for the cost.
I stay at this hotel several times a year and also utilize the conference facilities. Its clear that they make customer satisfaction their top priority. The staff is kind and attentive. In particular, Tom at the Front Desk is a standout, as are Nikki and Charlie at the restaurant/bar. I highly recommend this location.
