How to Get There
The Westin brand is tarnished by this hotel in downtown Cleveland. It’s one thing for the rooms to be outdated and in need of serious refurbishing, but it’s the lack of cleanliness that is terribly shocking and inexcusable. Dusty areas of the floor. Dust on the mirrors. Dust in the AC vents. Hair in the sink! A 4 star rated hotel that seems to be dearly in need of more funding. Maybe they cut cleaning staff to the bone?
The room ( a suite) was very spacious but boy does it need some updating and a good floor to ceiling cleaning. It is very outdated in style and the carpets were stained. The vents in the wall were dusty. The bathroom shower door might as well not even be there, it flooded the entire bathroom each time we showered even when completely closed.
We only had drinks in the hotel restaurant but the two male bartenders who served me were pretty miserable. Not even a hello, how are you. They might have been crankier than usual because it was busy due to The All Star Game but come on guys. How about a little smile? Go get another job out of hospitality if you can't deal with serving the general public.
The best part of the hotel was Starbucks. The staff there were super friendly and efficient. I didn't catch any of their names but they were all great.
Honestly, if this is what I'm too expect from the Westin name, I'll avoid it in the future. Plenty of other hotels to choose from.
Paying nearly 300 per night for a room. Room was not cleaned or made up. Had to call for clean towels and coffee. Valet was rude when we asked for our car. Staff complaining that they needed more help! Hotel was clearly fully booked so management should have had staff on hand to take care of customers. Absurd frankly. Normally love the Westin but this one stinks.
