Convenient and efficient
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We also stayed here in 2011. We liked it then and like it now.

We had a 2-BR with the second bedroom going to our 7 year old. We might have gotten by with him sleeping on the sofa bed, but it would have been tight.

The kitchen was adequate. We ate breakfast and lunch in the room, typically. We did our shopping at the Foodland in Ala Moana mall. The mall is a lot of fun--check out the Japanese section.

We rented a car and were lucky enough to get a spot in the back parking lot ($35/night). It would have been somewhat less convenient to park at the other hotel ($40/night).

The staff is very friendly, Zachary in particular. The complementary POG juice in the lobby is a nice touch.

The pool and beaches are down the street. The beaches there are a bit crowded so we typically went to Ala Moana Beach or drove to a beach farther afield.

The main shopping district and many restaurants are all in an 0.5 mile radius.

Our patio overlooked Fort DeRussy park and downtown and was extremely pleasant.

We thought the $275 cleaning fee was a bit steep.

The biggest detraction for us was the noise from the garbage trucks between 4 and 6 am on most mornings. We were on the 6th floor and it still bothered us. This is why I am giving it four stars instead of five.

Honeymoon

This made our honeymoon even more perfect and magical! It had everything we needed to stay comfortably for the week. It even had a hairdryer (which needs to be mentioned under amenities since I brought one for no reason). There were more than enough dishes, utensils, and towels for our entire stay. The convenience of the washing machine made everything even better. The ocean view was beautiful, the staff were warm and friendly, the pool and hot tub were refreshing. The only complaints we had were the cleanliness of the room. We had to clean it ourselves so it was cleaner. We also had smokers below us so we had to close our windows whenever they smoked, which defeated the purpose of enjoying the perfect weather. Smokers should be far away from nonsmokers. Otherwise, this place was ideal for our honeymoon and everyone should stay here in Maui!

Centrally located, close to all amenities.

Fully self contained accommodation with fridge and cooking facilities. Short walk to Outrigger on the Reef, where you can use the pool and beach facilities. The accommodation can accommodate up to four people in one unit. All essentials supplied and the staff are very accommodating and helpful with any questions. It is ideal for access to all the highlights of Waikiki and transport to the rest of the island.Highly recommended

Good Alternative

We were a group of 10 and searched for a place with min fuss. This was it!
Still being able to use the Outrigger Reef pool/spa and other services, this was actually not a bad place to stay. Rooms were a good size for a big family and the reception staff were always helpful. Rooms are self contained and you need to pay extra if you’d like them serviced. There is also a cost for replacing towels etc. It is located next to an ABC store which is very handy and only a few mins walk from the Hard Rock Cafe. It also has a nice Italian & Japanese restaurants next door.
The only downside for us was that every morning at 6am you can hear the dump trucks coming to take the trash from the back dumpsters. The noise is very loud and would always wake us up, so don’t count on any sleep ins!
Overall it’s not a bad place to stay, however I’d prefer the main Outrigger properties next visit.

No frills

If you just want a clean place to sleep this fits the bill! The reception staff is very small but friendly. From this location you walk everywhere you want to go, so be in decent shape. There is no place to park and driving in the city if a mess! Walk and wear good walking shoes. There is no pool, but you can use the pool at The Reef which is 2 blocks away and is lovely with full staff including Concierge, bars and great shopping. There are plenty of restaurants around, but be prepared to pay plenty. .
