Good Alternative

We were a group of 10 and searched for a place with min fuss. This was it!
Still being able to use the Outrigger Reef pool/spa and other services, this was actually not a bad place to stay. Rooms were a good size for a big family and the reception staff were always helpful. Rooms are self contained and you need to pay extra if you’d like them serviced. There is also a cost for replacing towels etc. It is located next to an ABC store which is very handy and only a few mins walk from the Hard Rock Cafe. It also has a nice Italian & Japanese restaurants next door.
The only downside for us was that every morning at 6am you can hear the dump trucks coming to take the trash from the back dumpsters. The noise is very loud and would always wake us up, so don’t count on any sleep ins!
Overall it’s not a bad place to stay, however I’d prefer the main Outrigger properties next visit.

No frills

If you just want a clean place to sleep this fits the bill! The reception staff is very small but friendly. From this location you walk everywhere you want to go, so be in decent shape. There is no place to park and driving in the city if a mess! Walk and wear good walking shoes. There is no pool, but you can use the pool at The Reef which is 2 blocks away and is lovely with full staff including Concierge, bars and great shopping. There are plenty of restaurants around, but be prepared to pay plenty. .

In central Waikiki, a fabulous Italian restaurant is situated. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The friendly staff including Landan, offer great service and are very professional. The menu offers great choice and a good wine and beer is also on offer.

Wonderful Stay: Excellent Location for Beach, and for Exploring
Reviewed 1 month ago

My ex-husband, our 14 and 12 year old and I stayed here and found everything to run smoothly. We had a 9th floor room with a balcony. It was clean, and it was one of the few places that had a big fridge, microwave, stove top, toaster, and all the utensils you would need to cook basic meals. If something was missing (like a cereal bowl or face cloths) then the staff was prompt and helpful with restocking. The fellows at the front (Zach and ?) were very friendly, as was the fellow who cleaned rooms/ took out garbage/recycles (name started with an M...). They really made our stay with their cheery dispositions and helpful attitudes. There was a queen bed in one room, and a pull out sofa bed in the main room, and this was just fine for 1 kid and 1 adult in each spot! If you want to spend more money on super fancy...or you really want to stuff yourselves every meal at local restaurants, then this isn't the spot. If you DO want to save your money for explorations outside Waikiki, and for some tours or lessons on learning to surf, then this is the best place to be folks! We used The Bus everywhere, and once we got familiar with the routes/times/schedules this was a great way to travel around Oahu! There are bus stops less than a 5 min walk from Outrigger. Caution: you just need patience the first couple of days, as you get the hang of the schedules. Schedules are next door at the ABC Store (staff are SO nice here...buy a few things from them!).

Excellent location

A very comfortable hotel. Our room was spacious and we had a pleasant balcony which we enjoyed in the evening especially. The cooking facilities were good and there were several ABC stores located nearby. The staff were friendly and attentive and the chilled juice/hot coffee in the lobby were a nice touch. We had a city view and there were no high-rise buildings across the street allowing us a pleasant view of various hotel complexes beyond Fort Derussey park.
