The folks behind the luxurious Uppala Umalas and Seminyak properties have done it again. This time with a chic new stay in Nusa Dua. The contemporary-styled Uppala Villa & Spa Nusa Dua boasts panoramic views of Nusa Dua and beyond from its rooftop infinity pool, private pool villas and a modern, cosy aesthetic that makes this a dream destination for those looking for an escape.
Opened in January 2017, you’ll be one of the first few to experience this luxurious getaway. Each villa comes with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining pavilion with a deck for sunbathing and a lovely lap pool just outside the glass sliding doors of the bedroom. Guests here are treated to world-class service, with a buggy to bring you anyway within the villa complex, shuttles to popular areas at Nusa Dua and an indulgent spa. In the evenings, you’ll appreciate the sunset view from Roof Top Bar, just next to the infinity pool. But of course if you’d like to experience exciting Bali, you’ll have plenty of opportunities with the complimentary shuttles. Visit one of Nusa Dua’s pristine beaches, or catch a ride up to Seminyak.
How to Get There
While many like the hussle and bustle we don’t and Uppala is nestled quite a bit out of Nusa Dua on a mountaintop with spectacular views from the pristine roof top pool. The villas are very spacious and clean, the beds comfortable and the pool is so nice to relax around. The staff are amazing running us at no charge into Nusa Dua anytime we requested and picking us up also, breakfast was great and always left with full bellies.
The negatives there is no spa like the title says but you can get plenty of spa services in Nusa Dua. The steps to the restaurant and pool would be hard if you are unable to climb many stairs, there is no elevator.
My wife and I were transferred to this facility from the Uppala Villa at Umalas and boy! what a transfer it was. Our villa was very clean and the bathroom was a great highlight for me.
The infinity pool is also very big, clean and lots of fun to swim in. The daily cocktails were an additional delight.
We had a private pool villa. It was really spacious, quiet and very relaxing. Our room was well appointed and had a separate lounge area. The pool is big enough and very clean.
On our last night we had the honeymoon package and it was simple amazing. Our villas front entrance, private pool, bedroom and bathroom were so beautifully decorated with roses, it was very romantic. We thoroughly enjoyed the sumptuous dinner under the moonlight on a beautifully decorated candlelit table. The honeymoon package experience would have been more delightful if our dinner was cooked in our villa by a private chef. However, the dinner staff did a great job.
Overall we had a wonderful time and can't wait to return with friends and family.
Flies (insect) all over the place (villa, lobby and restaurant).
Asked the staff to get rid of the flies everyday but the flies keep coming.
Flies attack us everywhere.
Breakfast menu are terrible and flies are all over the restaurant and food.
Private pool is green and it’s really gross.
Good view from the restaurant to the bay.
This villa was perfect for our honeymoon. It was secluded and peaceful, the staff were kind and made themselves constantly available to us.
The drive there is a little winding, but when you see the view from the villa it's all worth it.
Food - Amazing & very clean. Room service fee is something ridiculously low like AUD 2.50.
Spa - Their spa was under construction when we visited, so they were doing in-room massages which I preferred anyway! Amazing balinese massage. I'm usually very sensitive an ticklish, but this was perfection! 1 hr massage = around AUD 20
Staff - Beautiful. Always smiling and so obliging. A couple nights we were out late, and they sent a car (free of charge) to pick us up. They also organised a surprise cake for our honeymoon on our last night.
Accommodation - The room was kept cool and cleaned daily. It was honestly very tempting to stay in for the entire trip, because it was so humid outside. Bathroom is clean and spacious - would recommend bringing citronella candles when using the tub because the bathroom has a small open skylight that lets in mosquitos occasionally (not a massive issue, we were just spooked by the jap encephalitis warnings). Wifi is very good. We were able to stream things on Netflix without any issue. The private pool is cleaned daily. For those worried about privacy or safety each villa has a gate around the perimeter that you can lock, in addition to locking your own bedroom.
Location - They offer a shuttle service to anywhere in nusa dua. The villas are close to markets, bali collection, nusa dua beach. About 30 mins from the airport.
Honeymoon Package - Around AUD 130...included a 3 course meal on an evening of our choice, a 1 hr couples massage, and flowers on the bed when we arrived.
They gave us a late check-out of 2pm which was very convenient
It's remote yet very nice to stay. Quite place but close to many favorite places such as airport, Bali Collection, Pandawa Beach and many more. Also provided by free shuttle transportation. Highly recommended.
