The Lowdown

The folks behind the luxurious Uppala Umalas and Seminyak properties have done it again. This time with a chic new stay in Nusa Dua. The contemporary-styled Uppala Villa & Spa Nusa Dua boasts panoramic views of Nusa Dua and beyond from its rooftop infinity pool, private pool villas and a modern, cosy aesthetic that makes this a dream destination for those looking for an escape.
Opened in January 2017, you’ll be one of the first few to experience this luxurious getaway. Each villa comes with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining pavilion with a deck for sunbathing and a lovely lap pool just outside the glass sliding doors of the bedroom. Guests here are treated to world-class service, with a buggy to bring you anyway within the villa complex, shuttles to popular areas at Nusa Dua and an indulgent spa. In the evenings, you’ll appreciate the sunset view from Roof Top Bar, just next to the infinity pool. But of course if you’d like to experience exciting Bali, you’ll have plenty of opportunities with the complimentary shuttles. Visit one of Nusa Dua’s pristine beaches, or catch a ride up to Seminyak.

Nice villas and hotels are not unique in Bali. These villas are nice: private pool, two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, etc. But it’s in the middle of NOWHERE!

The staff are very kind. THe first day, the breakfast buffet is pretty bad. Very limited selection. The second day, we got to order breakfast to our villa, which was much better choices.

But all in all, it’s not worth it. I want a place I can walk to something in the evening...

A quiet villa for a hide away

Accidentally we (4 adults and a 7yo and 4yo) booked Uppala Villa near Seminyak, however the staff was able to change the booking to the nusa dua with an extra cost per night, which is quite expensive.
Anyway, the property is relatively new, it was not luxurious but overall all are great. The staffs are attentive and the service was great.
But we checked out on the 2nd night (we should have stayed there for 4 nights), not because of the property but due to our own choice. We prefer to stay near the beach, though they have a shuttle to the beach.
Anyway, if you prefer a quiet and secluded villa than you can't get any wrong to stay here.

A great long weekend away without the kids

Amazing staff - incredibly friendly and always willing to help you with anything. The apartment was nice and clean and had everything that we needed.
Breakfast daily - wasn't a huge buffet, but what they had was lovely and freshly cooked. Staff very attentive during meal times.
The facilities are fairly basic, with only a main pool but with each villa having their own private pool, it is more than fine.
Cocktails were amazing and inexpensive.
Would certainly stay here again, but not with children - no facilities for children. Only problem I would comment on, is the location itself. With a huge, uneven, hilly driveway (2km) to access the resort it makes it impossible to go for a walk and look around the surrounding area.
A wonderful place and for the price and the length of our stay, we were not disappointed.
