How to Get There
One of the smaller scale hotels in the area, but this meant it was a more personalised service. We felt relaxed, settled into a holiday routine easily and felt safe and secure.
The pool area is clean, calm and a wonderful place to step out of the sun and read a book.
The beach is immaculate and felt quite private.
We were bed and breakfast, but this suited us. The AI looked very good value for money, particularly with drinks. The quality of food was very good, the Italian restaurant was wonderful!
Over this was the perfect place for our honeymoon.
I booked a room here as family were staying for 5 nights, I came for 4 to celebrate for a birthday. I can see why some people love this place however I found it to feel like a cruise ship, and there was only one pool.
The gym only has one treadmill so if someone else gets it you have to wait though I highly recommend the beach run (go towards the right as you can jog to Nusa dua beach in that direction). My husband and I found there weren't enough beach chairs and we didn't love the pool as the bar is built into it and we aren't drinkers so you are swimming with people who are drinking hence my comment about there being one pool, a resort like this for the price I would expect a separate pool, even for children so they don't have to be with drinkers or smokers.
The rooms are very modern and renovated, and sound proof so we had very good sleeps. Would I stay again? No, it isn't the resort for travelers like me who don't want all inclusive. I found there to be few restaurants on the road outside to access at lunch but there was a nice Indian restaurant worth walking to.
You can see they clean the beach from plastic which is nice, however I really would love to see a resort like this use paper straws and do away with the plastic stirrers in drinks. I can't imagine those being washed and used again when drinks are collected so why bother, it is just landfill.
The staff, all staff, are super friendly. Breakfast had enough variety and the highlight for me was the churros, so good!!! For dinner, I generally ordered the same dish as I wanted Indonesian food and the menus are very western. Perhaps a free shuttle into Kuta would be a point of difference for this hotel, even if it was just one service there and back a day.
We came to this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary,got back after a trip out to find fresh flowers a card and a cake ,and the bed covered in flowers ,what a lovely gesture ,had an amazing few days here ,lovely room laundry done daily lovely meals ,lovely and clean and lovely attentive staff ,pool and beach lovely ,
On arrival at Sol Beach House Bali, even though our stay is fully paid, before arrival. I was turned down when paying the mandatory deposit. As my visa debit card was unacceptable for a deposit.
In our many many stays here in Bali. This is a first. Every other place we have stayed has had no problem with this card and all deposits have been successful. I was told it was too hard to return the deposit to the card at the end of our stay. We are Meliá Gold Members and have never experienced this before.
I was then instructed that I had to go outside the resort, find an ATM and bring back cash. Unhappily, I did this. Upon my return from finding an ATM, I was struck down by a motorcycle. Neither the motorcycle rider nor myself were harmed, as it was a low speed impact. (Although riding along the footpath is not normal where I come from, so I wasn’t looking for a bike on the path). But that’s not the point.
All I could think after that was, why would you put your guests in harms way. Why not just take the money from the card and if need be, give it back to me in cash at the end of the stay.
Once we were shown to our room, we tried to check in with family. But the WiFi is beyond slow. Can barely open a web page.
I Called the front desk and asked if this was going to be ongoing? They said they’ll look into it. I have now physically visited the desk twice (even once where it IT tech attended and admitted the WiFi speed was low) and our WiFi is no better in anyway.
Turned on the TV. Things just don’t get any better. I have honestly seen better reception in analog tv in outback Australia. Some channels you can barely make out a picture at all. I Called the desk to tell them. They said the would look into it. But it’s late at night now and they have not looked at anything. Both WiFi and TV are shocking.
To be fair. The resort is very nice. Rooms
Is very nice. Just had a lovely dinner in an open air garden, with a show. It was quite nice indeed. The staff are fabulous (but the staff are fabulous in most every accommodation in Bali).
However if you require at least a standard net connection or as most of us men like a good clear telly. These will not be provided as promised. (Pic attached of my TV reception as for WiFi, I’ll have to change over to my countries connection to get this to upload at an extra cost).
If I was staying in low rated accommodation, I would just accept this. But I’m not. We have paid allot to stay here. Very disappointed so far.
If it gets better, I’ll post an update. But I don’t expect from experiences so far that, that will happen. Check out my other posts. We have stayed in some amazing accommodation in our Bali stays (even coming from a private villa to here with absolutely no such issues) and have not experienced any such issues anywhere else. So far, this one is not value for money.
We stayed 5 night in Sol all inclusive resort. We had gold class room in 2nd floor. Room was big and balcony was great to relax and watch birds in nearby trees.
Wifi is really slow and even local Simpati prepaid 4G did not produced not more that 2.7 Mbps speeds in Speed test software. Local Telcom company which Simpati is connected can show good speed 12-20 Mbps if you stay at Jalan Pratama street. Link towers are pointed sadly only same direction where the main street is. If they would have 360 degrees antennas signal would be much better.
Hotels IT man told that they have new operator for resorts own connection. I spoke with hotel management and they will check with cooperation of new operator where the problem for slow wifi in the rooms exist. My personal opinion is old cabling and AP:s. I hope they will find solution in near future.
As Gold tier customers we had great selection of foods in 3 restaurant resort have. Food was good and selection in Menu was ok with different variations.
Pool was ok and pool bar worked fine. Local alcohol and beer is included in all inclusive rooms. Original is always better than local imitation, but 5PM in the lobby bar you can have real GT minus 50%. Great bargain.
Beach is ok in the morning when high tide is at top. Afternoon water just dissapere. The is a lot water activities if you like noisy sports.
Overall we are satisfied for Sol Beach House offerings and it is for sure is worth visiting again.
