How to Get There
Where do I start, well i think it will have to be with a very big thank you to the Sol Beach House!!! We have just got back from an amazing 2 week stay here and we loved every minute of it. We arrived very late after a very long journey and were greeted by lovely staff and a very welcoming cold drink. Our room was lovely very spacious and clean, although we couldn't appreciate when we arrived next morning all we could say was WOW our view was amazing we had it all the large pond, pool and the sea. From then on we knew it would be lovely and it was.The hotel is small but perfectly formed, the food was amazing we loved it all maybe a bit too much, thanks Sol I definitely have a few pounds to loose now I'm home ha ha. We did a few day trips out which was a must with travelling so far and for these we used the legend off the beach that is Wayan,we just told him what we wanted and he tailor made our days for us,seriously if you visit Sol go talk to him his English is great as is his knowledge and his sense of humour, you won't be disappointed he really is a great guy???? So to sum up our stay it was just wonderful. We can't thank everyone enough and we couldn't mention any names because each member of the team we came across was just lovely. So if your looking to book just do it you won't be disappointed. So to finish off with a huge big thank you to you all at the Sol.Feel the mood. Tracy and Justin room 8188 ????
My husband and I stayed in one of the xtra beach rooms on a gold basis for 14 nights and were extremely happy with hotel, surroundings and staff. This was our first time in Bali and found the people extremely friendly and accommodating. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
Food is delicious in all the restaurants as is the beverages. Rooms are spacious and spotless. Beachfront and pool area are beautiful and loungers are plentiful.
One thing I would say to hotel is get rid of whirlpool baths as they look unsightly and don’t work and the shower is not sufficient, a walk in shower would have been much preferable.
Already looking to book for next year, can’t fault it.
1. Fantastic location:
It sits between 5 stars hotel posh area sharing Nusa Dua beach and a back street full of local massages, shops & restaurant. We enjoyed going to the beach front side of the hotel for a romantic long walk through the beach road in the morning, passing Club Med, Sofitel, Westin and other posh hotel, can use their beach front cafe as a guests. Then we would walk back to Sol Beach House to freshen up by the pool, before walk to the back street side of the hotel, and find local lunch place, and then get a massage outside the hotel (After all these walks!). Back to the hotel and chill before dinner.
Love their free 10:30am aqua aerobic class at the nice size pool. Followed by a cocktail or coconut juice at the pool bar, and chill on the giant floating water beanbag thing to wash your stress away.
Also joined their AUD $5 4:30pm yoga class taught by June, by the grassy lawn looking out to the beach, so much fun and a good stretch.
They have water sports kiosk at the beach, little bit disappointed that snorkeling mask & flippers hiring is not free. As all other hotels we stayed in Bali / Thailand / Fiji / Vanuatu provided free non motion water sport gear hire. And they take cash, so please take note if you want to snorkel and don't want to bring your own gear.
At night they have free fire show & Bali dance, located by the buffet dinner grassy lawn area, great performances.
They also have lots of other things: beach volleyball, table tennis, gym, in house spa (we go out to the local shops for AUD $10/hour). Plenty to do, or not do!
3. Beach & Pool:
Clear water beach, white sand that is well maintained by staff. Plenty of beach sun beds with little table to put your drinks. Nothing to see when snorkel, better hire a day tour to Blue lagoon for diving & snorkeling. Great beach for swimming and playing thou, really enjoyed it.
Buffet breakfast included, friendly staff, lots of variety of foods. Tea / coffee / cappuccino is included, great way to start your day.
We didn't book the all inclusive package (silver / gold) because we love to explore local restaurants near by, plenty of choices range from fancy AUD$100 posh meal to local food truck $2.
5. Fish pond garden:
Relaxing to watch the fish, birds, squirrels and turtles, you can feed them too!
We booked their airport transfer from Airport to the hotel for around 345k (AUD $35) for connivence, knowing that there is someone holding a sign up for us when we arrive.
We booked normal taxi when going back to the airport for 200k rp (AUD $20).
The bathroom / toilet is a little worn out, not a good look but at least shower is strong & hot which is great.
The first room we stayed (8165) has some plumbing noise, for some reason it made banging sound every 2-3 mins through the walls. We requested for a new room and moved down to 8171 and no more noise. Staff were happy to change rooms.
Overall still a good room: spacey, clean, comfy bed, quiet air con, nice sun bed in the room for reading. Private balcony for fresh air & dry our clothes.
Felt a bit hassled every time we walk pass a hall of shops to access to the lift to go up to level 3 from the pool. The shop sales assistants would come out and asked us to look inside, every time we walk pass, despite we already told them that we are not interested in shopping.
3. Tour desk:
We actually loved the tour, booked by the tour desk near the front lobby reception. But communication could be better: we have made our booking after the nice man explained what we could do / prices / arrangement, etc. He asked us to come back in the afternoon to pay cash deposit, when we went back he wasn't there so we asked the 2nd man at the tour desk that if we could drop off the deposit. The 2nd man seems trying to win our booking and told us that he would take us to diving, he would pick us up in the morning, etc. I felt like they were individual sales assistant who try to get our commission. Maybe this is also same business model as the beach kiosk, not ran by the hotel but outsource?
The first man returned and found us were talking to the 2nd man about the same tour (We were confused if we did make the booking or not), he took over and we were okay.
Overall the tour was great! We went to Blue Lagoon (Car drive + boat ride), my husband scuba dive while I snorkel, 2x 1 hour in the morning, then lunch provided and drop of back to the hotel, for 2 millions RP (AUD $220)
Overall we were very happy for our stay at Sol Beach House, thank you!
