How to Get There
We stayed at 'The Grand Mirage Resort' (Nusa Dua) when we had been to Bali for our honeymoon. This is a huge property is secluded from the main city, It has a beautiful private beach, delicious food, brilliant service, a swim-up bar, and most importantly a very welcoming ambiance. They have bean bags and beds right at the beach for guests to unwind, along with hookah/sheesha (IF YOU NEED)!! Also, your day will begin with a hearty and delicious breakfast at their sea facing restaurant.
They have close to 3-4 restaurants at the property. The pool is GREAT! They have added on many more amenities since our last visit and it looks even better now. All the rooms have a bathtub to unwind after a tiring day. The room service is very prompt and plus they leave these tiny flowers and leaves every once in a while, which is kind of sweet.
I'll give this hotel a 10/10, and if I do visit Bali again, I will stay at this place ONLY!
We stayed at the Grand Mirage for the second time in May this year with three other families and absolutely loved it again. Although the new pool was being constructed it did not detract from the holiday whatsoever. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing family holiday. Our kids absolutely loved it and want to go back, so we booked again for November.
Staff are all very friendly and helpful, all speak and understand English well.
We had a room situated in the family side of the hotel and the first room was situated on the third floor over the breakfast area and the kids club, it was very noisey early on in the morning so we asked to move and without hesistation they moved us to a quiter room.
The other side of the hotel has ongoing restorations around the adults only pool etc.
The beach was not pristine white sand, but OK.
Not too many hawkers trying to sell things, so that was a pleasant surprise.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choices.
Kids enjoyed the kids club and kid friendly pool areas.
Overall the stay was very pleasant and I would recommend it.
We stayed at Grand Mirage in Bali at Nusa Dua from 13-19th May (a family of 3). We enjoyed every moment there. It was a very memorable holiday at Grand Mirage. The breakfast is a huge spread. There are ample restaurants to choose from inspite being vegetarians. The ambience is good and staff is always smiling and ever ready to help. The rooms are nice and spacious and the view of the sea from the room was gorgeous. The beach side decors are too beautiful for dinners. The beach could have been cleaner (if the hotel can work on this). But rest water sports are fun. There are lot of activites at the hotel for everyone like Yoga, Zumba, Pool Volleyball, AquaAerobics, Kayaking, Beach Volleyball etc. Evenings there are cultural dances. The hotel keeps you busy if this is what you prefer. The Spa is out of the world and massive huge, though a bit pricey for Bali standards.
Overall we have enjoyed and would like to come again to Grand Mirage Resort.
If you go on this hotel Web site the photos are amazing and were probably taken when the hotel opened for the first time. Be warned, it's not as good as it looks. The rooms are OK but not luxurious, the bathrooms are old and seriously in need of revamping. The hotel was relatively busy and catering for the volume of people was clearly a challenge as dishes were sparse and never replenished so choices were limited.
Unfortunately in my opinion this is not five star quality and all you need to do is compare it to other five star establishments. Their standards are poor.
We were given a bottle of wine with a note that read "Bear with us while we revamp"
It is unacceptable to revamp while there are guests in the hotel so our group checked out and found another hotel with the same star rating that was much better.
Be aware when booking accommodation in Bali as their standards are not the same as other countries and this may lead to disappointment.
Bali is a wonderful destination in the right environment.
