How to Get There
Our tour went on for 3 hours. That was more than I needed. It would help if I had studied Russian history and art history. It was interesting but an hour would have satisfied me. The crowds were as you would expect, wall to wall. We did see painting of many masters. The tour was worth while just a bit long.
The price for the room doesnt match the expectation. The room was too small. The windows were exstremely small. My girlfriend was waiting for the iron to be broght to the room for half an hour( we had to call and remind them two times. When she decided to iron her white trousers brown stains were coming on it and the trousers had to be dry cleaned. Another thing they said they have free swimming pool - on arrival we asked two times to show and they said its not for free and its more like a spa. Last day of our stay the towels were not replaced and the room wasnt cleaned. In the end we didnt get to see it at all. For a breakfast i was asked to take my blazer off ( they thought its a jacket) My girlfriend is Russian so she explained me for the value i paid i didnt get the right level of service which is absolutely true as i see now .
I have booked 2 rooms through Expedia in this hotel 3 months ago and have paid the full amount of 8000 $ for 2 Junior suite for July 6-11 (5 night) that was confirmed by the hotel and Expedia both .I even called the hotel at that time and they told me everything is ok .In my surprise I got an email from the hotel last night 5/16/18 that They can not accept my reservation and I have to pay another 32000 $ .How can a hotel which has already confirmed reservation 3 months ago now cancel it and ask for more money .40000 $ for 2 Junior suit for 5 night ?
I am really interested to know if there is any Russian tourism agency who can fine this hotel for this kind of shady business
While on a cruise, we had an overnight stay in St. Petersburg, so we opted to book a night in the city. We are so glad we stayed at the State Hermitage Hotel. Elegant, sophisticated, and charming best describe this property. The same could be said of the staff, From check-in to Check-out, their attention to detail had me feeling like an important celebrity. Our stay here was the “cherry on top” of a wonderful city experience. Would highly recommend.
A beautiful hotel in the heart of St Petersburg. Excellent service, clean, elegant throughout. Great breakfast, big selection and lovely staff. Gym wouldn’t be worth talking about, tiny and very little kit. 20 minute walk from all the major attractions. 5 minutes from all the bars and restaurants.
