The Lowdown

Enjoy the dramatic charms of the British seaside with an escape to the rugged coast of Scarborough. The Sands’ self-catering apartments have won a bevy of awards in recent years, including a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, VisitBritain’s 5-star Gold award, and Welcome to Yorkshire’s Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year. These modern and appealing apartments offer a home-from-home right on the edge of the Blue Flag-awarded North Bay beach, placing you in prime position to enjoy Yorkshire’s striking scenery.
Tranquil and modern, apartments are fully equipped with a kitchen and an en-suite bathroom, along with TV and music systems, providing you with everything you need to entertain yourselves. If you don’t feel like cooking, not to worry – there are a variety of restaurants to sample, both in The Sands’ complex and also further into the town centre. Step out onto the beach to watch the morning sunrise, or stroll along the promontory to visit the ancient ruins of Scarborough Castle. The complex features a surf shop where you can book lessons to get into the water and ride the waves, along with a Welcome Pack that outlines pleasant trails and walks in the local area.

Short break

We use Escape to the Sands lots for breaks. This time was a short break with out 2 year old grandson. We love being so close to the beach. Apartment 8 in location is a lot smaller than normal and on 2 stories. Normally their is 2 full bathrooms and this has space used tightly. Very small living dining area and more cramped bedrooms. However as usual we had a great stay and provided us with easy access to the beach for our grandson.

Definately worth its money

My room was immaculate, staff were so helpful, friendly and approachable.
The staff were so nice about my booking, even though it was complicated and long winded, the view was great, managed to get a balcony facing the sea, even when the weather was not as sunny as it could have been it was still an amazing view.

' Worth every penny '

We choose a 2 bed roomed sea view apartment, but added an extra person to our trip at the last minute, as I did not want to give up my sea view and move to the only available 3 bedroom (without sea view)The Sands sorted us out with a very comfy fold out bed placed in the lounge. The apartment was clean....spotless in fact. We had everything we needed if we so wished for cooking, washing etc. My 23yr son and his mate was very impressed with the fact that they had access to a gaming console (not sure which one). Beds are comfy , hairdryer, toiletries, towels and adult dressing gowns are all provided. There are nice food outlets and a bar based underneath the apartments. You can catch a tour bus just outside the apartments £4.50 return. Scarborough Open Air Theater is just round the corner.A perfect base for exploring the East coast. I would definitely return to The Sands if returning to the East coast.
Apt 306,perfect view of Goldwing Parade, see pic. Not if you want complete quiet, due to the road and barking dogs waiting for their owners to return from the shop directly underneath. But great for sitting & people watching.
