Interesting but better places

This is an older hotel that has some charm. Lots of musty smells and unkempt views from balconies. We also had an issue with the toilet that we opted not to raise at midnight and when I raised the next day, it was met with a very luke warm apology. Someone was sent up and I assume it was fixed. It was too late for us. I spent what was supposed to be a romantic night, picking toilet paper out of the toilet as there was no plunger. Again, we thought we were being considerate. After pressing, I received a 10% reduction ($17) to my bill. When I asked for additional consideration, I received no call back. Not up to my or High Point Standards by any means. There was a very loud party in the patio that also impeded having dinner there. We had to mingle with very intoxicated and 'otherwise impaired' students from High Point

Great Customer Service!

We recently stayed here while visiting our son at High Point University. What an historic place to stay!
We really enjoyed the period atmosphere & decor.
We stayed in the main building which is the original home to the Adams family. Our guestroom and bathroom were well appointed. Our bathroom was huge! With Jacuzzi soaking tub, separate shower and duel pedestal sinks.

There is an on-site restaurant for breakfast which is included with your stay. The breakfast has fresh fruit, oatmeal, eggs, meets, and Brad‘s… The restaurant also serves dinner. We recommend The grilled Cesar salad. Very unique and delicious!

On our the first day we we had an issue with the A/C in our room. It wasn’t cooling but Maintenance quickly looked at the issue. it took overnight for the unit to begin working.
The management is wonderful and was very apologetic to our situation. Even offered a free night because of the issue!!!

There is a small exercise room on the lowest level. It is just enough to keep you exercising while you’re here.

They are also very supportive of High Point University and it’s families and students!

We are are very happy with and grateful to stay at this property!

Recommend you make reservations well in advance of your stay, it is very sought after in the High Point area.

Always enjoy staying here

We have stayed in both the original home and the building next store. I love the charm of the original home, but also appreciated the elevator in the annex as we had larger than normal bags this last visit. The rooms are nice sized and very reasonable in their pricing. I have found the young ladies at the front desk to be extremely pleasant and helpful---such a joy to be with people that make you feel so welcome. We were here on a Sunday night this time, so make dinner reservations elsewhere, as the kitchen and bar are closed on Sundays.

Beautiful, Favorite Place to stay in High Point

Clean & friendly, We had a wonderful experience while visiting High Point University. Loved the HPU decor and southern hospitality. Breakfast was included. Wish it was larger, fills up quickly on poplar HPU weekends.

Exceptional!

In town furniture shopping, we stopped at the Red Lion initially, and the front desk lady was so rude & unprofessional that we left. I looked on Trip Advisor for some place with good reviews & we found this gem. What a wonderful experience we had at the JH Adams Inn! Bethany at the front desk was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She showed us 2 room options, one in the original mansion & one in the newer building, both of which were beautiful. We enjoyed the free glass of wine daily and the breakfast, and ended up staying 2 nights. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bedding, but the the staff makes this place outstanding. Christina in the bar/restaurant was charming, sweet, and super honest-she found money we dropped (after the free glass of wine!) & returned it. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in High Point.
