How to Get There
I don’t know what Sheraton was thinking. You have a nice hotel with no parking. You have a nice hotel with crappy elevators. You have a nice hotel with two double beds instead of queen beds. Two adults in a double bed is cramped at best. Parking is so bad you have to be a stalker to find a spot. The elevators barely move and one was not operational. My last point
How much money could they have saved by putting double beds instead of queen beds? SERIOUSLY UGH!!!!
A large, accommodating convention center that one would find in Vegas, only set off beside a mall in Greensboro.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and decorated well. A previous review stated, “the higher, the quieter.” This is absolutely true.
I would return. If you have a family, this could be considered a nice place to stay.
I stayed in a club room with my daughter for a tournament. The club and SPG desk staff were great. I appreciated the help (twice) as our travel plans kept shifting, and attentiveness of the evening club staff when I needed to find kid-friendly food in the lounge while I enjoyed a quiet glass of wine. My only complaint is the bathroom. There were no hooks in our 5th floor bathroom. So after enjoying the pool, which was very pretty and half covered, there was no place for our swimsuits. Nor was there anywhere to hang a damp towel. Similarly, the large marble shower with rainhead (no tub) was beautiful, but offered no shower stool or toe ledge. For a lady shaving her legs, this presents a challenge.
We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Our king room was spacious. There was one sink in the bathroom and one sink outside the bathroom, so that was nice. The bed was comfortable. The view from the 22nd floor was decent. The buffet breakfast provided as part of the group we were with was pretty good.
The hotel is very, very busy. There were two large groups there while were there, a meeting of school nutritionists and a youth soccer tournament. The lobby was always packed and very noisy. The parking lot was pretty full. The elevators were very slow and once my wife had to wait 10 minutes just to board an elevator to return to our 22nd floor room.
It was a very "nice" hotel with the usual amenities you'd expect. There was only one relatively small onsite laundry room. We got a pretty good group rate, so that made it better. It's not in the best part of town. We were told by locals to avoid the mall across the street. There is a brand new Chick-fil-A within walking distance as well as some other restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat at the hotel restaurants (which we did not try). It's conveniently located off of I-40.
We would not have stayed here had it not been the HQ hotel for our group. We'd typically look for something a little less expensive with free breakfast where you don't have so much going on.
We stayed three nights at the Sheraton. My son was running in the New Balance National Outdoor Championships. My wife, son and I shared a room. The room was fine, bathroom was modern and up to day. The beds were not very good which is my only complaint of the room. The hotel is very large with a conference center. This was the official hotel of the New Balance Championships where they recommended athletes to stay. It was conveniently located to the track so no complaints there. However, in addition to this event, they had another large event at the hotel at the same time. This stretched the hotels services. And one other thing, several of the restaurants and bars were closed. Not sure with a full hotel, why this was the case. Overall, I would say the Sheraton was average, good location but a little disappointing on the services.
