How to Get There
My sister and I have stayed at this Hilton now 3 times since February and my most recent trip was June 14-17 with two of my sisters.
The hotel will say it is newly renovated however that pertains to the lobby only. The hallways to the rooms were littered with paper, not vacuumed the entire time we were there. The hallways have no ac and are extremely muggy. We left on a Saturday morning around 11 am, after taking our privacy please sign off the door, and asked the front desk to have someone clean our room and replenish the 1 roll of TP they gave us and 3 towels. We were told they would do so before we returned. Upon returning to the hotel at 10 pm that evening we walked into a dirty room that had not been touched. We had to have house keeping come up and give us what we needed instead of clean the room at that hour as we were very tired. The rooms I have stayed in are all the same, cracked ceilings, stains and our most recent room had a patch of 3x3 of black mold. We did not notice this until we had returned from our day and night with my sick father.
We called the front desk around 10pm Friday the 14th of June to let them know and request a new room. We did not want to jeopardize our health and had noticed we each had respiratory issues after only a hour in this room.
Maintenance came to the room with our new room keys and was shocked that the hotel had given us this room. He agreed it was a serious problem.
Our new room was right down the hall and we chose not to pack up but rather just grab stuff and move it. In the process I left my Bose mini speaker. Unfortunately I did not realize this until Monday the 17th. My sisters and I both remember exactly where it was, right next to the tv on the left side of the counter at the back edge. We all saw it when I unpacked it as I mentioned I had brought it.
Monday evening I called down to the front desk to inquire about said speaker. I was told I would have to wait until Housekeeping came in the next morning to ask them, as they are apparently in charge of all lost and found items.
Tuesday morning upon checkout I inquired again about the speaker, they had no idea what I was talking about and told me to call at a later time.
Several calls later, messages left over the course of a few days with housekeeping as well as on duty managers and still no one is willing to give me my speaker. I say give me because someone definitely has it. This is not a matter of me misplacing this speaker this is a matter of stealing.
When talking with one of the managers on duty Tuesday the 18th, I requested they knock on the door of the room we left, which was now occupied, and ask if they had noticed it on the counter as it may have just blended in, it was dark grey and small. They refused to do so, they also refused to put me through to the room so I could ask the new people staying there. Wednesday one of the managers returned my call and told me housekeeping does not have the speaker. I asked if they could knock on the door of the room we left and ask, however he told me the room was vacant now. I asked him if he could send someone up to check if by chance it had fallen behind the table as it was at the very edge. He agreed to do so however now it is Thursday 24 hours later and still no call.
So, not only is the hotel dirty and in need of repairs they also do not care about returning personal property. I would highly encourage anyone to find another hotel to stay at.
I had a great time at this hotel. The pool is neat, gym is ok. (move the seated cycle away from the automatic door, please)
The staff is best part––very helpful and always a nice word.
The room was nice and spacious.
Only challenge was the loud room doors that jolted me out my sleep every time someone entered or left their room--ouch!
This is a surprisingly nice hotel. It looks older from the outside but once you walk into the lobby you realize it is more upscale. The lobby is spacious, the bar is very convenient. My room was immaculate, fresh & clean. The bed was more comfortable than some 5 star downtown hotels where you'll pay 3x more. I highly recommend this Hilton location. JW
I was in town for a quick impromptu trip to see my parents and chose this location as it was pet friendly. I arrived early before arrival and the first floor room I had requested was not available but they were able to get me into a room on the 4th floor and still near the elevator for the pup which was great. The rooms were excellent and even though I had an adjoining room it was super quiet. It was super spacious more than enough space for my dog to have his own side of the room! I had access the executive lounge which was a plus and well stocked.
Service from the AM to the PM to the Auditor was always top notch and greeted with a smile. The only downside I saw was that while being near the elevator we still had to walk a while to get the front or side door for the pup to use the bathroom.
Will certainly be back!
The hotel was excellent with friendly staff. We requested a very quiet room and was accommodated. We ate dinner at the hotel one night and the food was delicious. We were attending an event in Chapel Hill and was only 23 minutes away. Only small complaint was the sofa in room had a large stain where you sit so we just didnâÂÂt use it. It could have been just wear but looked like a stain. We enjoyed our stay.
