How to Get There
Really enjoyed my stay during 2019 NBA All Star Weekend. During my stay I ate at the restaurant inside of hotel and Renita(Hostess) did a remarkable job greeting me and making sure all services went well.
Here for the NBA All Star weekend. Not a player or owner, just a fan.Nice hotel, good food and great employees! Roosevelt, Val and the “dog rescue” bar tender went way above what you might expect from hotel employees to address my needs and make me feel right at home! Southern hospitality at its finest. Thank you all so much.
I liked the 5$ shoes, the food was pretty good for room service and the conference. It was VERY pricey for a plain room overlooking a concrete desert. If you are going to charge New Orleans prices you either need a more interesting location or fancier rooms.
We came in to town for the Easy Rider bike show. We choose this hotel because of the location and Westin name. This hotel is definitely older but well maintained from the outside BUT the rooms need a do over. The furniture is out dated, everything in the room is cheap, the walls and carpet were dirty, the pillows were mushy and the water pressure was bad. The bed was comfortable and the water was nice and hot. There was also some kind of conference for around 2000 college kids who were all over the hotel. They were not bad kids, just very loud and overwhelming.This was not the level you would expect from a Westin hotel especially for the prices they charge. I would not recommend.
Marriott Platinum Premier Elite member with over 1000 nights - No room upgrade, No club, Nothing to make up for no club, had to negotiate for late checkout. It was very clear they did not appreciate my loyalty to the brand. What kind of downtown hotel does not have a club?
When I asked if the room allocated was the best available the check in person joked that it was the best room unless we were put on the roof. I had checked prior and suits were available for sale. We got the room we paid for. When I asked about the club? We don't have one. Do you provide breakfast or anything instead? No but breakfast can be had for a welcome gift, but continental only and only for two (we had 3 people). She told me that I should take the points and just pay for breakfast at $24.95 each as that would get me more points. Wow! So, I finally think I am going to get something out of my brand loyalty on checkout. The volleyball tournament we are at is going well and we need some extra time. It is printed right on the card jacket I was given at checkin - 4pm checkout for elite members. I send a text via the app making the ask the night before. I get back - what time do you need? Not sure, what time can you give me? Your group has 12pm checkout. However as a platinum gust we can offer 2pm. I am thinking if this is enough time and don't respond for a while. I get another text - We can give you 4pm due to water issues. The water was off for several hours due to a water main break. Not their fault but a significant inconvenience to us nevertheless.
Room was nice and clean, beds comfortable. No internet TV like Marriotts. Decor was a little old.
