Clean, Friendly, and Delicious Breakfast
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Generally, my husband and I stay at chain hotels, but we do occasionally pick a small or boutique hotel. This hotel was our choice for our one night stay in Blowing Rock. The historic aspect is what makes this hotel such a fun choice. The rooms are a little dated but everything was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The breakfast that comes with your stay is amazing. The only downfall for me is comfort level of the bed. :(

Historic Charm Outweighs Any Need for Upgrades
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife and I were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay for Family Weekend at Appalachian State. There was nothing in Boone. So, we decided to look a little further out. We found The Green Park Inn. They had vacancy and were reasonably priced. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The room was large and clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with ample selections. The only negatives we had were the inability to get hot water from the bathroom sink and having to hold the handle down on the toilet to get it to flush completely. The parking spaces were a little tight as well. However, the charm of this old place certainly outweighed those inconveniences. I could not help but look around and wonder who had stayed here over the last 100 plus years!

Historic older hotel

A historic older hotel, the staff was very friendly and the room was clean and nicely furnished. Keep in mind, this is a building that’s over 100 years old, but overall pretty nice. Breakfast each morning is included and there’s two nice restaurants on site.

October week in Blowing Rock

The wife and I went for a week to ourselves. We lived nearby back in the 90's so were familiar with the area. Always wanted to stay at Green Park Inn. Close to best hotel experience I've had. Yes the floors squeak....it's 126 yrs old. Breakfast is great. Much more charm and character than the chains. Highly recommend.

Feel at Home in This Charming Historic Hotel
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I read a few reviews about the hotel rooms/baths being in need of an update and was concerned. Although the wallpaper and floral border in our Superior room with balcony certainly came across as 1950's country house, the room was clean and large. The primary drawback was that the room was in need of a desk and chair for working at my laptop. There was certainly space to fit in another piece of furniture as the room is large by hotel standards. There was a small round table and two chairs that held the Keurig cofee maker and tray of cups, but we had to move everything to make way for using the laptop. Our balcony had a pretty view of the golf course. The hotel is charming and the complimentary full breakfast was wonderful - best cheese grits we had for our entire trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel. There is a library off the lobby and a tea room where you can relax and have cookies and tea at 3PM. The front porch lined with rocking chairs really completes the romantic picture.
