November weekend
Charles O

We visited the property last weekend. The hotel was great for an old hotel.

Charlie the piano player was a hit.

Food was not good. Both Dinner and breakfast served luke warm at best. Food service was horrible. Slow, and understaffed. Went to breakfast on Sunday morning 30 mins early for scheduled time. 3 tables out of 25 plus were occupied. The waiter said they were full and would not seat us. Would not go back.

Nice historic Inn

I was staying here for a friend's wedding. They have a nice location and the look of the place is very neat. My only qualms would be the beds could use some updating. The mattress was a bit lumpy. Also, it is late fall and the steam heat was going full blast and even with a window wide open, it was hard to regulate the temperature. I imagine earlier in the year, it is more comfortable. The staff were certainly friendly and accommodating and I love the historic and spooky vibe of the place.

I can accept old but not dusty

Looks great on the outside. We are attracted to older, classic hotels. However, we could not sleep. It was so dusty inside it affected breathing. Layers of dust on the carpet and on the blinds. We checked out after the first night of a planned 4 night stay. It smells musty as well. Some of the problem is that there are dogs everywhere. Halls, lobby, rooms. In a dog friendly hotel, pets should be limited to a few rooms. Most of the problem is a lack of cleanliness.
If you want to stay here, bring your own vacuum cleaner and air filter!!
