Nice but no lounge area
Reviewed 2 days ago

Overall, the property is very nice. The one thing lacking is a living room/lounge area. We had very rainy weather when we visited recently, and there is nowhere in the inn to sit/relax/read except for a few chairs in the small lobby. I expected a "resort" to have such an area. The included breakfast was very good, the staff was extremely nice, and the property is well maintained.

Great venue, exceptional staff, facilities that need an upgrade
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Chetola (and particularly the Bob Timberlake Inn) offers a quiet and serene respite from the hustle and bustle of life. Besides the obvious natural beauty of the Lodge and surroundings it is the exceptional staff that make it. The people (Beth at Breakfast, Maren the Innkeeper, Matt at the reception and most anyone you encounter make this place great.
However, the facility is in desperate need of an upgrade. The fitness center is old and smells, the equipment is a collection of old and mismatched pieces. As I mentioned to the staff, if I am asked to pay a $20 per day resort fee there ought to be value added. Additionally, due to renovations there was not enough consideration to getting in and out of the Inn.

Great place for a wedding. Beautiful with lots of good staff. Condos were great. Food in town is wonderful. Blowing Rock is one of my favorite places on earth. I try to visit there once a year if possible.

Wonderful Resort for Families

Spent Spring Break at the Lodge. Sprawling resort, gorgeous views, fantastic food at the restaurant, a plethora of recreation options for the kids, and all this came with exceptional service from the staff! We had an amazing experience and we will be back!

Lovely vacation in a Condo - Sierra 3
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We really enjoyed staying at Chetola. The grounds are stunning. Love the pond and the swans and the chairs. It was too cold to hang outside in early April but it was beautiful.

After reading the reviews for Chetola we made sure to pick an updated condo that looked like a redone kitchen and the Sierra's 3 did not disappoint. The unit was pretty and decorated well, all comfy furniture and a porch overlooking the ponds.

It had three bedrooms (master and one up, one down) and a big living area both up and down; the downstairs living area had a pullout couch so you could easily sleep eight here.

Master bedroom was very nice and the bed was soft but comfy. Bathroom was super nice and had a warm fan that kept it toasty. Jacuzzi tub was used but the hot water heater didn't fill up the tub all the way :(

We will most likely be back with more of the family for a holiday. Enjoyed here very much. We stayed with a deal to get the third night free - Luxury accommodations and a great value!
