How to Get There
This property is beautiful. Lake is quiet where you can use a paddle board or kayak. Nothing noisy. Good place to find some peace. I cannot speak for the Inn because we stayed in a condo. A real measure of a place is how they handle problems. When we booked this resort we booked a specific 2 bedroom condo because it was close to the main building with the pool. We were there with our kids so we wanted them to be able to walk to the pool when they wanted (the property is HUGE). When we arrived, we found that they gave our condo to someone else and all they had left was a 3 bedroom condo that was at least a 10 minute walk to the pool. After acknowledging the mistake and apologizing more than enough, they upgraded us to the 3 bedroom condo and took 20% off our bill and included the breakfast buffet for the family for the next morning. Furthermore, when we found out that the clay shooting doesn't go on Sundays, which was the only day we had time to do it, they made a call and they opened it for us. What would have been a small inconvenience to us was made more than right by their staff. Kudos to the manager (Angus) and the rest of the staff. Will definitely be back.
This is a beautiful resort and made a lasting impression. Room 1 in the Bob Timberlake Inn is the only room with a balcony overlooking the lake and it was really worth the few extra dollars. My husband and I spent a lot of time sitting out there with a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine (or milk to go along with the delicious chocolate chip cookies baked by the innkeeper every night!) This was one of our favorite places to stay because of the extra amenities provided. The Keurig machine, ice cream, water, etc. were right around the corner from the room, making it so convenient. The Arts and Crafts décor of the inn is tastefully done. We spent a lot of time roaming around the rooms looking at the artwork by Bob Timberlake that is on display, many of which that can be purchased. The innkeeper, Maron, is a delightful person with a broad knowledge of the inn's history. She was a joy to interact with and a true asset to the inn. The wine and cheese hour was very enjoyable after a long day of travel. Breakfast buffet in the morning was well-stocked and tasty, offering a variety of choices. The hostess and servers were very friendly and provided wonderful service. The grounds around the resort are lovely and well-maintained, and there are a lot of things to do here and in the Blowing Rock area. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at the Bob Timberlake Inn and look forward to a return visit.
Chetola is a lovely resort area in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. It was the perfect romantic getaway for our 10th year anniversary. The lodge offered clean and comfortable rooms with friendly service. The spa is top notch and the best in the high country! The 90 minute Swiss massage was the highlight of our visit; it was amazingly relaxing and professionally done to the highest standards. I highly recommend the high quality spa and staff. The grounds and scenery are beautiful. A great getaway for some rest and relaxation.
Chetola Resort is Simply the Best! Located in beautiful Blowing Rock, NC, near Boone, NC, nestled in the mountains. Beautiful unit, two bedrooms with a great jacuzzi, where else would I rather be!?!
Nice two bedroom unit with jacuzzi and balcony overlooking woods. In walking distance to downtown Blowing Rock, restaurants, park and shops.
Nice lake on property with paddle boats. Just a great romantic and/or family-fun get-a-way place.
I really do love Chetola and so look forward to my week there in June!
Skip the free breakfast and go into town. Every item tasted like it was from the day before. If you're an early riser don't expect anyone at the front desk. We were told someone would be available to light the fireplace and to make a cup of tea for our early riser, no one was there! The price of the room doesn't reflect the quality of the hotel. Stay somewhere else!
