Not really a hotel
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This property is not a conventional hotel. The building houses 14 or so suites though these are more like small condos. Our room was nicely decorated and had a full kitchen with coffee supplies and washer/dryer. The room had no windows from which you could enjoy a view - which is understandable based on its location; however there was minimal natural light and inadequate overall lighting. I was frequently using the flashlight on my phone and had to crawl around looking for an outlet. As the property is located right on a main street, it is very convenient to restaurants and things to do resulting in free wake up service which sounded like bottles being emptied by the recycle pickup service every morning around 7am. The lobby was well stocked with complementary coffee/tea, cold drinks and snacks which is a very nice feature. The staff were all friendly, helpful and accommodating. They were willing to help answer questions and secure dinner reservations. As for services on the property, it is limited to front desk, coffee area and that is it. There isn't parking on the property, no food on the property and the lobby is the only common area. If you are looking for a conventional hotel or even small Inn experience this would not be a good choice, otherwise it is worth your consideration.

So glad to have picked the Windsor!

We recently stayed at the Windsor while visiting Asheville for the first time and are so happy we did. It’s lovely to have an interesting suite to relax in after a long day of Biltmore-rather than the cookie cutter small room you would get at the Omni or elsewhere. How great to walk to a fantastic neighborhood restaurant rather than taking your chances with a resort option or having to drive somewhere. The suite is so well appointed it is hard to find fault with it, the staff is super friendly and the lobby snacks and pastries are a plus. You are in the heart of downtown, so there is a bit of noise -especially if there is an event at the space in the next building. You should also request a 3rd floor room to avoid the creaky floorboards overhead. I would have loved a down pillow option and a better spruce up with housekeeping, but that’s about it! Will recommend to anyone we know traveling to the area.

Great visit to Asheville!

Windsor Boutique Hotel was in an ideal spot for visiting Asheville - nearly all the places we wanted to shop or eat where within easy walking distance. The rooms were nice and very boutique-y - local art, pottery and sculpture within. Our bedroom was slightly small, but the bed was large and the sheets very nice which more than made up for it. It has a washer/dryer and full kitchen available. They had great service, friendly front desk and nice snacks available. Highly recommended!
