How to Get There
Reynolds Mansion is simply the best. We started staying with them in 2014 and have never sought lodging elsewhere in the Asheville area since. Billy and his staff are incredibly thoughtful, good humored and kind. They have thought of everything for you, but are available and warm in the event that you have a need while you are under their roof. The property surrounding the Reynolds Mansion is just gorgeous, landscaped in a way that highlights the natural beauty of the area, and there is even a little quaint pen containing ducks, chickens and honeybee hives - yes, Reynolds Mansion has their own honey! A giant wrap around porch with comfortable seating is the perfect place to take in the bird songs, and the mountain views during milder weather. There is also a second story porch available to guests. I won’t go into extreme detail on their hospitality (which is exceptional) because every review here probably boasts of it, but there is wine, coffee, tea and baked goods available to guests in the downstairs dining room (a grand work of artful restoration, decorated with portraits of Reynolds family folks, and other interesting art works, and glorious antique furniture). The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and exceedingly comfortable. All of the furniture throughout the house are antiques, but well-cared for and sturdy — this is not a place where you feel afraid you might break something just by leaning against it or sitting on it. In the morning, breakfast is served in the dining room with Innkeeper, Billy, and it is always a delight to catch up with him and hear stories about the restoration process of the house, the history of the Reynolds family, and to get to converse with other guests. Breakfast has always been amazing—every time. There is always fresh fruit, a wonderful baked good and some kind of hearty ‘main course.” They are pros at accommodating dietary restrictions without making it feel like a “thing.” This visit we had an egg and potato casserole that was gluten free (due to another guest’s restrictions) but it was so delicious we would have had no idea there was any dietary accommodation at play if Billy hadn’t told us. There is no better place to stay for business, rest, and play in the Asheville area.
I can’t say enough about this place!!! We just got back from our second visit staying here. The rooms are amazing, the breakfast is top notch! Overall, my favorite part about staying here is the staff. Sandy and Jim are absolutely wonderful and they meet your every need. The owner Billy is so personable and I could just sit with him for hours and talk. If you haven’t been here, it is a MUST!
Wonderful stay! Absolutely beautiful mansion and beautiful views. The owners serve you a delicious breakfast in the morning and they are so welcoming and great to talk to. We had so much fun! We can’t wait to go back.
This year we decided to go away for a long weekend for our anniversary. We live only an hour and a half from Asheville and wanted to have a special dinner in one of our favorite restaurants near Asheville.
Instead of just driving there and back, we decided it would be nice to stay in the area a few days to admire the Blue Ridge Parkway fall colors and Biltmore Christmas decorations. While looking for places, I discovered The Reynolds Mansion. The reviews for it were all very positive, and we love historical bed and breakfasts. We booked a two-night stay and discovered we found this wonderful place with a staff that raises experience to the highest level.
From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left we felt at home with Billy and the rest of the wonderful staff there. We had amazing breakfasts, lovely sunset views, great nights, helpful assistance, very good dining recommendations. On top of that we heard the nicest stories and history lessons about the mansion and the surrounding area. Just taking in all the history and artwork will cover several more visits. Oh, did I mention the amazing breakfasts?
Definitely recommend The Reynolds Mansion if you're in the Asheville area. It exceeded the expectations that were set by the perfect reviews.
Hands-down the best B&B we have ever stayed in! The old mansion home has been lovingly restored and is decorated to perfection fitting with the historic nature of the place, whisking you back in time. Each room is unique. We stayed in one of the three rooms above the carriage house, which was just steps from the main house. The room was huge, tastefully decorated, and we enjoyed the fireplace on a couple of cool nights. The grounds are filled with flowers and plants, and well-tended. Breakfast is served at 9:00 and was a highlight of our trip. The food was fantastic and beautifully plated. Sandy greeted us when we arrived, showed us our room, and was helpful and a delight to talk to. Billy, the owner, was warm and welcoming, and was helpful with recommendations and suggestions for things to do and places to go. His love of his B&B was evident from the time we checked in, to the morning breakfasts where he always had time to share the history and stories of the Reynolds Mansion. We cannot wait to go back!
